I sliced the top of my thumb

And I’m feeling very very sorry for myself

I was cutting up veg for dinner and I sliced the fleshy part of my thumb with my tiny sharp knife. It felt vile 🤢

DP kept the DC away from me while I dealt with it so I sorted myself out. But basically want my mum. And am worried I need a stitch.

Just needed a moan. I think DP thinks I’m over-reacting.

Why do I do this on an almost weekly basis

If no or very little blood it’s ok op. As said mine bled solidly for about 18 hours, and I had three or four bits of tightly wrapped kitchen roll wrapped round it that I kept changing the top layers of, and it was still soaking through the kitchen roll.

When the poor doctor gently prised it all off the pad came with it, still hanging on by it’s little hinge, was totally and utterly gross. She proper grimaced at me, as the kitchen roll was all stuck in it, 😂

Ds 20 rang for a lift one night. No his motorbike wasn't broken - he had chopped the end of his finger..
Off.
And binned it!!

Told him to retrieve it and dh would come get him and take him to A & E..
Managed to stitch it back on. Needed daily redressing.. I had to take newborn ds as ebf and never could estimate the wait...
The Dr asked me if ds was pulling his weight.
They assumed he was the df!!
I was 43!! Ds was mortified!!

I sliced into my finger on the edge of a can to the bone. Was disgusting. Didn't get it looked at, I just bandaged it. Reading these other replies I probably should have had a tetanus shot

I did the same thing, tried to cut some frozen cheese and sliced through the pad of my thumb. Wrapped it in a tea towel and drove to the hospital where they had to put in 5 stitches - got home, starving, to find the bloody dogs had eaten all the cheese!

I thought that was going to end with 'dogs had eaten the pad of my thumb'.
