I have a 12 kids coming for a garden party please don't rain. I'm doing good boxes for the kids, but was going to just put out a plate of sandwiches for the adults as it's over lunchtime, until my best friend freaked out that people would touch them. What can a I serve? Ideally buy. Would packet sandwiches be naff, it would cost a bit. I don't want to be making to order.

You could just put out some packet food, wrapped biscuits, single serve crisps plate of sandwiches for the brave. I wouldn’t overthink it tbh.

@Woeismethischristmas maybe if I space the sandwiches out so they have grab room the brave will be ok 😂

Put out sandwiches on individual portioned plates that people can take, rather than on one big plate? So same pre-prep, but lay them out in a way that it’s less of a free for all.

How about 'party bags' for the adults? You fill them with a cling-wrapped sandwich, wrapped savoury snack, wrapped individual cake and a nice non-alcoholic can of drink. They can safely take a bag, put the rubbish in it for easy disposal and you won't have to keep asking who wants tea or coffee. It'll be light-hearted however show you have also been sensible. Have a lovely day!

honestly?
I'd tell them they are free to bring their own food.

we have friends and family with various allergies, intolerances, dietary requests and when there's a party they bring their own food. this is standard for us that everyone is happy with because it's practical.
