If you had all of Friday and all of Saturday to yourself with no obligations, demands or responsibilities, what would you do? 🙌

Go to the cinema, read, have a long bath, sleep, order breakfast so I could eat it in bed, meet a friend for coffee, have lunch somewhere nice on my own, listen to albums with no interruption.

CorpusCallosum · 24/05/2021 19:54

Dude that sounds good. Cinema is a brilliant idea 🤩

Go to the beach and walk along the shore. Maybe book an afternoon tea or nice lunch for one.

picturesandpickles · 24/05/2021 19:57

I'd do absolutely bugger all, just watch crappy telly, eat lovely food and craft.

RockPainting · 24/05/2021 20:01

Sleep in, clean a little bit, gym, walk, make lovely food, watch films, sleep some more!

MinnieMountain · 24/05/2021 20:07

1 busy day- swim (I live near a lido), cafe, cinema, late lunch out, home for pottering and cheese and biscuits for supper.
1 lazy day- swim (because I love it), watch as much crap TV as I wanted interspersed with a bit of reading, Indian takeaway for supper.

TerrifiedandWorried · 24/05/2021 20:11

Going to the cinema on your own is AMAZING. I bloody love it.

1988Username · 24/05/2021 20:23

Go to the supermarket Thursday on the way home buy myself some really nice breakfast food then a nice early night followed by a lazy breakfast and the luxury of thinking what do I want to do today and doing just that Saturday I'll probably be a bit knackered from Friday so some trash TV and then a wonder into town for some sushi and a film.

TheMotherlode · 24/05/2021 20:27

I’d book myself into a spa hotel, book some treatments and just generally lie around eating nice food, reading and drinking wine. By myself! That’s just my extravagant fantasy though, back in the real world I’d probably stock up on snacks and lie on the sofa with a good book and Netflix.

Hope you have a lovely couple of days to yourself, I’m so jealous!

felulageller · 24/05/2021 20:35

I'm Lucky I do get this occasionally.

It's never as good as im expecting.

Sometimes I need total time off so I stay in bed, eat crap and watch 90s TV. Maybe do some reading.

On a good day I'll go for a walk, to a cafe, browse a bookshop, do some writing.

sweatervest · 24/05/2021 20:38

if i had the house to myself all day i'd stay in. but i'd probably go to the gym and then come back all smug and sweaty and then just lie on the sofa and realise how boring i'd find it so then i'd probably go on the internet and do nothing productive at all. i'm no bloody help am i.

if the house wasn't empty i'd go out

CorpusCallosum · 24/05/2021 21:32

DH is taking DD to his parents so I have the house to myself Thurs-Sun morning. I have completely forgotten how to spend time on myself 🤦‍♀️

I finish work late on Thursday so thinking Chinese and wine, then hoping Friday and Saturday will be a blissful mix of indulgence and self care. I love the idea of the cinema - sitting alone in the quiet & dark is like the antithesis of usual toddler life. Maybe an art gallery too.

My time would revolve around food. No one here eats fish or seafood so I’d plan a big shop for Saturday - delivered of course!

Thursday night would be take out and wine, lie in the next morning until the delivery arrived, take the dogs out for a sea wall run to wear them out. Trashy tv, seafood, more wine.

Long bath, shower hair wash, time to plop my hair... Bliss

Early night with my battery operated friend to finish the weekend off, literally Grin

How do you plop your hair? Grin

We just had some bad news about DDs eyesight, she is severely myopic and as it's so bad and so young she's at greatly increased risk of vision impairment in her lifetime.

DH is thinking he will still take her to PILs but I think my wonderful weekend plans will mainly be replaced with crying 😢

That's some update op, I'm really sorry and truly hope for the very best outcome for you all Flowers

Thursday night I'd get the house straight and smile at the thought that no one would mess it up again!

Friday I'd go shopping. Browse for as long as I wanted. Ask a friend to meet me for a coffee and chat too.

King prawns for dinner as no one else likes them.

The evening I would have the worlds longest bath then get into bed and watch whatever I want with the cats.

Saturday I'd do some exercise first thing so I felt guilt free for the rest of the day. Then spend it staying in doing nothing very well. Internet. Computer games. Maybe a nap.

sunnysidegold · 26/05/2021 22:04

I'm sorry you've had such bad news OP. Nothing wrong with a good cry sometimes you know, some things are really rubbish and sad and worrying.

Please try to find something nice to do for yourself. You can be fully rested for DD's return then. Take care.

picturesandpickles · 26/05/2021 22:33

I'm so sorry to read your update Flowers

lifeinlimbo2020 · 26/05/2021 22:40

My son was diagnosed with severe long sightedness (hypermetropia), amblyopia (lazy eye) and a squint (strabismus) when he was small. You would not have known looking at him. The wonders they have done for him through patching etc is amazing. He now (13) has a prescription of just under plus ten for each eye but leads a very normal and happy life. I am sure they will work wonders for your daughter too. X

CorpusCallosum · 27/05/2021 12:25

Thank you, sorry to bring the tone down. Yesterday was such a shock. We went to the optician today and ordered her glasses, they'll be here next week. Being able to see will be life changing for her so while obviously I'd rather she didn't have to deal with this at all I'm so sooo grateful we live in a time and place where we can correct her vision.

@lifeinlimbo2020 thanks for sharing your experience, it's reassuring to hear about families who have been through it. I'm so happy to hear your boy is thriving 💛
