Anyone had this and know what it may be?

I've had ongoing back pain for a few years, it's mainly been down to damaging my tail bone and having SPD during pregnancy so it's normally been around my hips/pubic bone ect. I went in to hospital a few weeks ago because I had what I thought was sciatica and my legs both went numb. I had a full spine mri and they said everything was fine.
However today I have the most severe pain in my lower back, it's not on my muscles or anything it's on my actual spine, like when I press my lower spine the pain is unbearable. It's a constant stabbing feeling even when I'm just sitting still. Has anyone else had this and have any idea of what it may be?

Cauda equina springs to mind immediately but I may be wrong

I was tested for this in hospital and the mri showed it wasn't that. I also lost all my reflexes so they also sent me for a brain mri but nothing showed on that either. Because of the results it made me feel like it was all in my head but even the drs were baffled as to why my reflexes wouldn't work and where the pain was coming from Sad

Having just double checked that I'm not sure what you've described matches, but I'd still be getting it checked out again urgently OP.

Thank you. I'm home alone tonight as hubby is at work so will have to wait until the morning and get some help. Definitely don't fancy taking a 2& 3 year old to a&e x

I had something similar many years ago which turned out to be piriformis syndrome. The yoga 'pigeon pose' stretched out the offending muscle and fixed it for me.
