DD played down illness at work

My dd returned to her job 3 months ago after a long term illness. She told me yesterday she is struggling with fatigue at work and also doing some jobs that involve heavy lifting. She had surgery over a year ago but had nerve damage and hasn't recovered fully.
She is scared of talking to her manager about it, she doesn't want her colleagues and manager thinking that she isn't up to the job.
Can anyone advise on what to do?
Thank you

How big a company is it? Is there an occupational health department? Would she be willing to talk to them?

She should speak to her GP first to find out whether she is risking her health long term by doing these things, that is the top priority. When she has more medical info she may feel clearer about approaching work.

Also maybe try to find out more from her about the culture of her workplace - if she hasn't been there two years and they are dreadful she may have a point. Maybe she should look for an alternative workplace/role?

She had a phone call will OH, 4 months into her absence but I think it's only now that she is back in work she realises how bad the fatigue is and when she spoke to OH it wasn't as bad. I don't think she will talk to OH again she was really stressed about it the first time.

But she isn't up to the job if it's causing her to suffer like this. She needs to speak to her manager and discuss options. Are there other tasks she could temporarily pick up in replace of heavy lifting

I would say that while ultimately its her decision, would she be able to request cut down hours or reduce her load elsewhere so she can completely recover in downtime?

If her employer were a "good sort" she would be upfront, but if she thinks there is a high probability of being shafted - I can see the temptation to push through.

That's a shame. She can self refer to OH and her manager won't need to know, unless she wants them to. Remember that companies want to do whatever they can to stop employees going sick due to physical or mental stress
