Moms can you send me photos of the dishes (or the quantity your children eat?) My baby is 16 months old and eats everything more (proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables) despite the fact that she always seems to be hungry and never satisfied .... I do not know what to do
thank you

Toddlers have small tummies but need quite a large amount of calories. So they graze.

Fitforforty · 21/05/2021 12:02

Are they on 3 meals and 3 snacks a day? They from tiny babies to half their adult height in 2 years. They need lots of calories.

At that age my DS seemed to spend the day eating! I think it's a really good thing because so many struggle getting their DC to eat.

DS would have breakfast (2 Weetabix, a banana and a yoghurt and if on holiday would have a second breakfast), lunch (lots of protein, some carbs and fruit), dinner (whatever I was having with more yoghurt) and 2 snacks (fruit, crackers) and then 2 Weetabix for supper because he just couldn't sleep if his tummy was not full. All washed down with bottles and bottles of milk!

Maybe bigger portions? Or more protein?

The nhs says 3 meals a day and 2 snacks at that age.

I think it's fine to let her eat as much as she wants at mealtimes . And use full fat dairy etc, lots of protein, iron rich food etc. The only thing I'd limit is sugar and salt really.

My dd is younger - 10 months - but already on 3 decent size meals a day plus still having about 600ml of milk too, though that is starting to come down a bit. A typical day for her would be a weetabix with full fat milk and banana, or porridge with spoonful of nut butter and some berries. Then lunch of scrambled eggs with toast fingers and some avocado plus satsuma for example and dinner of salmon (about a third of a fillet) with rice and broccoli or pasta with homemade veggie sauce and tuna/ grated cheese.

If you're worried you could call your health visitor? Has your little one been weight recently and is she following her centile line?
