If you did something lovely for someone and they gave you a gift what would you like it to be?

Budget is around £20 and I need to be able to post it or have it sent direct to them. I've had a look around but nothing is grabbing me.

A personalised candle from Can To Candle

Chocolate from Bare Bones lovely chocolate

SunshineCake · 19/05/2021 22:16

Actually seeds would be a good idea plus something chocolatey. Thanks everyone.

A bottle of wine. A houseplant. A book token.

AdaColeman · 19/05/2021 22:23

Nice chocolate, M&S have some Belgian or Swiss chocolate hampers within your price range, that could be delivered directly.

Interesting cheese, quite a few cheese makers now deliver directly.

My favourite would always be flowers of a plant because I love them. I'd prefer not sweets or chocolates or wine because I don't need fattening up and am choosy about wine.

A big box of Thornton’s Continentals.

dollypartonshirspray · 19/05/2021 22:30

I love fancy homemade soaps, something that I would
Enjoy but never buy myself

irregularegular · 19/05/2021 22:34

Nothing particular. It is the thought that counts. I would really love someone to write a card/note saying a real, heartfelt thank you.

Having said that, I do like the recycled cashmere fingerless gloves from turtle doves and tend to buy them when they are on offer for random gifts.

irregularegular · 19/05/2021 22:35

Otherwise, really, really good chocolate. Or a pretty, natural bunch of flowers.

irregularegular · 19/05/2021 22:37

Or an actual book. If someone knows me well enough to get it right. Hardly anyone buys me books since my mum died and I miss it. I think people are nervous about getting it wrong, but there is nothing better than someone else choosing a book that isn't quite what you would choose yourself, but turns out to be a great read. Or at least an interesting one.

Microgreens are very current, so a growing kit would make a nice present.

Lilies not expensive but fill the house with.joy. A young person sent them to me 2 weeks ago. Still going strong and have really uplifted me

Redskyyy · 19/05/2021 22:45

I run a small gift box business and sell (I think) lovely gifts! Let me know if you would like a website link.

katy1213 · 19/05/2021 22:47

Fortnum's Toffolossus would be within budget - but I'd be very happy with flowers. Don't try to be imaginative or 'thoughtful' - it rarely comes off.

drpet49 · 19/05/2021 22:48

Box of French Macarons- heavenly!

YouLookSoCool · 20/05/2021 01:07

It's not very original but I'd always be very happy with flowers

GreyhoundG1rl · 20/05/2021 01:09

One of those Brownies by post packages?

SunshineCake · 20/05/2021 06:31

Yes please @Redskyyy. Send me a PM.

I have found a beautiful friendship rose so that is in my basket but need to check size when grown.

No apologies for trying to be thoughtful. It isn't exactly a bad thing. I just wanted suggestions in case I had missed a good idea

I'm just wanting to make sure a friend knows I appreciate her. I have already said it on the phone and in a text but she has been incredible, plus I know she's going through a hard time, and most of us love a surprise in the post.

Book token for me, I use a kindle but I also love choosing a proper book from time to time.
