What would you buy yourself as an indulgent pick-me-up treat...?

Having a bit of a down day and hence doing a bit of window shopping.

Say you had a budget of £50 (so not a small amount but not loads) to spend on whatever you want, what would it be?

Doesn't matter how frivolous!

I was wondering about maybe this as enthused about by Caroline Hirons or perhaps a selection of posh socks as lots of mine are past their best.

Manicure and afternoon tea

OldEvilOwl · 19/05/2021 12:36

I really want a weighted blanket

YesPleaseMary · 19/05/2021 12:51

I’d blow the whole lot on wool.

Maddy456 · 19/05/2021 13:16

Ohhh I like this question. Some nice bubble bath, a book, some chocolate, wine and some cashmere socks. Ha think that comes to about £50!

Xiaoxiong · 19/05/2021 13:42

@MrsFeatherDuster I'm clearly doing the school run all wrong...!!! Grin

MrsLCSofLichfield · 19/05/2021 15:24

Books! Maybe a pint and a naice sandwich in a good pub if I've got £15-£20 left. Threads like this are what brings me back here!

@Xiaoxiong - thanks for the La Roche Posay Effaclar recommendation - I need to sort out some stubborn redness and this looks good and not too expensive.

Crafting materials and a new novel to read.

dementedma · 19/05/2021 15:37

Massage or facial

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 19/05/2021 15:48

Reflexology (£40 round here) and coffee and a cake afterwards in the sunshine at our local deli.

Darklane · 19/05/2021 15:57

A lipstick, a book, wine, M&S chocolate eclairs

Cowbells · 19/05/2021 16:06

I'd buy a huge bunch of flowers and some good quality bath stuff, like Neal's Yard Geranium and Orange.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 19/05/2021 16:09

Expensive face cream

Iloveyou3x · 19/05/2021 16:12

A pedicure (maybe £25?) and some nice food from marks and Spencer’s.

Or a facial or massage definitely.

Neonprint · 19/05/2021 16:18

I had a hot stone massage last week it was amazing so I'd get another one. The 45 min one would lead enough left to buy a nice coffee and cake.

Xiaoxiong · 19/05/2021 16:30

@MrsLCSofLichfield honestly I wouldn't have picked it up except for the GP's recommendation, but I've been really happy with it so far (about 2 weeks in) and it has really helped my redness after the first day or two of seemingly no improvement (or even looking a little irritated by the toner). It's definitely worth a try!

52andblue · 19/05/2021 16:42

A new hardback book and some bubble bath.
A pack of good coffee and ingredients for a cake which I'd bake.
I'd invite a friend around for coffee and cake.
After they'd gone I'd get in my bubble bath with my new book.
A glass of red (& some antipasto if enough £) on the side.
BLISS.

OR blow the lot on houseplants and books.

JemimaPyjamas · 19/05/2021 18:52

Oh god, now I want to blow all my Air B&B refund money on weighted blankets, expensive skin care, massages and M&S food!
