I was at my gp surgery yesterday trying to organise some blood tests and was spoken to very rudely by the nurse, in public. (Mostly saying she was far too busy to take the bloods the consultant had asked for and didn’t I realise they were running vaccination clinics!?! And some other stuff) Part of this conversation mentioned why I was getting the tests, which I didn’t want made public (an acquaintance was sat in the same waiting room, she’s a little bit of a gossip so I expect it’s all going to be all around the village just as soon as she can see people). I informally spoke to the practice manager about things yesterday, and she sorted out the bloods to be taken by another nurse this lunchtime. So far so good, although no apology.
Anyway I was in just now having the bloods done when I overheard the first nurse who was rude yesterday saying ‘oh that’s the one that complained about me yesterday!) in a nasty way.
Now I want to make a formal complaint as this nurse is just so rude, I don’t want her Involved in my care again. But I’m worried that complaining will mark me out and make future care more difficult. It’s a big rural practice and not massively easy for me to move practices as it’s the only one that seems to cover our village.
Would you let sleeping dogs lie, or complain? I know the staff are busy and it’s been a very tough time, but there was no reason to be rude to me (she started being rude as soon as I said hi) and I’m still annoyed at Mrs Gossip potentialLy knowing my medical business.
