Why do all swimming costumes drag my breasts down?

In the hope that summer May eventually start, trying to get a swimming costume. Bikinis are great for actually holding your breasts like a bra, but not great for coverage or practical. Takinis I find actually ride up my stomach more. So swimming costume or swim dress. I had the holy grail once and it was great, now every costume even if adjustable straps seem to want to drag my breasts down. I’ve tried extra long costumes so they have more distance. I want my breasts uplifted, not flattened against my stomach!
Seriously, are men designing these things? I’m overweight, but when my breasts are in the upright position I can pull off a costume just, but flattened and pulled downwards I age about 50 years and look frumpy.

You need something that has a proper built-in bra really for uplift in a swimsuit. I have one like this www.bravissimo.com/products/premiere-ultimate-swimsuit-so105/
It has a separate clasp at the back so you have support under the boobs and adjustable straps. The type with an elastic 'shelf' don't cut it for me.

You need to spend more money on one with actual cups.

That is, unless you want a proper sport one and in that case you’re fucked, you’re not allowed huge boobs and be interested in sport or fitness it would seem Hmm (according to clothes designers I mean)

YEs agree - one with actual bra-sized cups.

I've had some success with Brastop.com in the past

I think the needs for "actual swimming" are different to "looking good while at the pool/beach".

For actual swimming I want my boobs squashed as flat as possible against me so I'm more streamlined in the water. For being visible at the pool I want the opposite. The only answer is totally separate items for the 2 purposes.

I've got some lovely ones from Fantasie. Pricey, but the only sensible option.

Look for longer body swimsuits (if you are plus size simply be used to do them)

Thanks all.
Maybe I was looking at carol guess that were aimed at the wrong thing like Bon prix and Marisota, so I could send stuff back on credit etc.

Surgical scars mean I’m looking for a skirted swim dress or costume and skirt. Will have a look at the links. Thanks @randomsabreuse
that makes sense, although the ones I was looking at were clearly just for beach not swimming and still seemed to want to send everything south.

Sorry to jump on your thread OP, does anyone know where I could find swimsuits with “supported” cups for small sizes e.g. B?

JohnsRaincoatLost · 18/05/2021 16:20

You can buy swim skirts like this which means you don't have to limit yourself to a swim dress although Swimwear365 do dresses.

You definitely need a bra inside rather than the elasticated "support" shelf or padded cups are good. I don't know whether you have considered wearing board shorts for covering up what you feel uncomfortable with. I wear these because we go to water parks on holiday so I don't have these ride up my arse on a fast slide Grin
