Can I fly from Dublin to London next month?

I'm in NI, my old school friend has invited me to a sort-of-wedding (pagan handfast) next month in London. Easyjet flights are very expensive from Belfast but only £9.99 from Dublin. Will this be allowed? We would go as a family of 4. I can only find info from Dublin Re International travel, hence asking here.

It'll make your arms ache.

Go on the gov.uk. site
I was there this morning wondering about travelling to RoI. There's bound to be something there for you.
"Travel within the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
You do not need to take a COVID-19 test or quarantine on arrival in England if you are travelling within the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, (the Common Travel Area), and you have not been outside of the Common Travel Area in the previous 10 days."
the gov says

The Irish republic is considered part of the common travel area so to travel to Britain you are not required to provide a negative pcr test, fill in a passenger locator form or quarantine. However on return to Dublin, there are restrictions in place requiring all of the above which would not be the case if you returned to Belfast.

Yes I'd immediately be returning to NI. So is it legal for me to travel for this reason, ie I won't be turned away at the airport?

Travel restrictions have been relaxed as of today so it is entirely legal for you to travel for any reason as long as all the requirements are met.

jasminoide · 17/05/2021 21:02

Thank you Bonnie. What exactly are the requirements?

Currently, nothing required to travel to U.K. from all of Ireland.

On return to republic of Ireland, evidence of negative PCR test, passenger locator form and quarantine required.

Serpenta · 17/05/2021 21:10

Yeah if you fly back into Dublin you'll have to provide proof of a negative PCR test. £150 you need to factor in.

Serpenta · 17/05/2021 21:12

Just noticed there'd be four of you. I think it's everyone over the age of 6 has to do the PCR test. That's an extra £600.

Serpenta · 17/05/2021 21:13

There is a chance they'll have relaxed the rules by this time next month. There was talk of it today, the common travel area being considered a bubble.

jasminoide · 17/05/2021 21:31

Many thanks to all, didn't realize a PCR test would be a requirement within the CTA! No doubt when they scrap that the £9.99 flights will be about £200 each 😭
