Is this next level arsey?

I'm currently cutting down my work hours due to long commute thats getting worse and general malaise with work. I have put in a flexible working request. One of the issues is constant phone call from other members of staff about drivel. I have told my manager but nothing is done. When the flexible request is accepted (if it is) would I be next level arsey to ask the manager to tell staff re my new working hours and request I am not contacted out of work unless in an emergency? I need to cut down the incessant phone calls whilst at work so thats another issue

No I wouldn’t say it’s arsey!
Don’t want to be badgered with calls when your not technically at work!

No, that would be fine. Is answering that many calls a normal part of your job? If not, maybe set up an hour a day when you take calls and turn the phone on silent outside of that.

We have a handover but some members of staff still contact me several times in the day whilst in charge about drivel. I am always put on the spot to answer queries aswell with not much information.

Tbh I’d put a voicemail on that says “my working hours are x to y, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you within one working day” or whatever. Then just leave phone on silent outside your hours.

Maybe you need to rethink your approach?

If you’re in charge it’s not unreasonable for people in your team to ask questions. Would you rather they just make mistakes?

Is there a way of organising this so you can get your own work done as well? For example, a slot twice a day when you’re available for questions?

I would tell people myself, not get my manager to - that is what would make it seem arsey and like you've run to them complaining. The next time someone calls you outside your hours either don't pick up then send a text saying 'Sorry I've finished for the day now so please try (someone else) or send me an email and I can follow up with you tomorrow' or pick up and say right at the start you're not at work anymore but can you help quickly, then another time just text or ignore.
