Eating out and takeaways

Just interested to know how much you spend on eating out and takeaways per month?

We are a family of 4 and I really begrudge cooking on a Saturday. It’s my one day off cooking!

I'm not sure how knowing much someone else spends helps you though.

This is down to your budget (and possibly health considerations).

More to the point, if you are a family of 4, why is Saturday your only night off cooking ?

Agree with @BackforGood.

FWIW we get takeaway something like once every couple of months; obviously no one is eating out at the moment so I can't really guess. Before lockdown we'd occasionally go to a cafe; I suspect if covid hadn't happened we'd maybe be going out for a meal every couple of months too (as DD was too young before, and we were shattered).

If we get Chinese it's usually in the region of @20; if it's fish and chips it's about a tenner. So 5 or ten pounds per month.

But DP and I do share the cooking, and we both enjoy it; we do also buy ready meals when we're tired so it's not as if we cook from scratch every single day. In a normal month we'd get something like chicken kiev/pizza maybe 2-4 times, and obviously that's more expensive.

As above. Completely depends on your budget. Pre COVID we ate a couple of times a week for dinner, cafe type lunch Saturday and Sunday.

Oh and my 9 year olds cooked tonight, and they do quite regularly. You don't have to be the only one that cooks.
