Do I take one child swimming while the other is isolating?

Child one has a confirmed case of COVID in his class bubble, so is isolating for 10 days

Child two’s bubble is open, but she has been sent home for being a sibling (but wasn’t at first, it was after cases rose in another closed bubble they brought in the sibling rule).

Should I take child two to her swimming lesson in these circumstances? I’m confused!

Yes as long as your isolating child isn’t showing symptoms then it’s fine for the rest of you to go out and about.

Thank you, would like her to go if possible, she has missed so many lessons.

Child 2 shouldn’t have been sent home if their bubble is open.
Child 2 only has to isolate if child 1 shows symptoms or has a positive test.
I would be questioning this with the school.
It’s fine to take child 2 swimming as technically they should not be isolating as they have not had contact with a positive case.

16 children have now tested positive in the first closed bubble, then the siblings also started to test positive which closed another three bubbles, after that they asked all siblings to stay off. They need to close the school tbh!

That's a pretty significant number of positives, it's not just one kid from one bubble. Whilst technically yes you can, personally I wouldn't as you've three affected bubbles, your child is isolating, and already 16 positive. One week off swimming is annoying, but isolating should be done at home, as annoying as that is

Given the number of cases I don't think you should, even if you can. I appreciate the importance of swimming lessons so understand the disappointment.

Perhaps not taking child 2 to swimming will make it a small bit easier for child 1's isolation.

Even if you technically can, why would you? The whole point of isolation is that someone might be sick and contagious without knowing it. Why potentially spread it to a swimming class too?

Yes good point. Ok will give this one a miss, at least I won’t have to get in the pool Smile
