Theme park queueing

What would you do?

At a theme park...

Child A runs to join a queue to a ride. Joins the queue. Parent of Child A parks up the buggy a little distance away and collects Child B. Walks to follow Child A. In the meantime another family has joined the queue behind child A. Do you...

1- walk past the family to join your child.
2- join the queue behind the family and call child A to join you.

2 - if the child is tall/old enough to go on alone and meet the family after their turn then of course they can stay in their place but if they are all going on together then they should go behind.

Otherwise where do you join the line? If one teenager from a group of six joins the queue then the other five join them would people still be saying 1?

2 for me.
But if I saw this and a family called their little one to them behind me, I would possible say it is ok they can go ahead. But would be mildly miffed if they just assumed and pushed in.

2 - I would definitely call child back, and would give a look to anybody who walked past me to get to their child. If they said "I'm sorry, my child is already in the queue, could I please join them?" I wouldn't be bothered and would let them past with a smile.

I would do 2 but rarely see it happening in practice. If I were the family behind Child A I wouldn’t be bothered by option 1 personally.

It annoys me more when option 1 happens and it’s a huge group of adults. I think if they all need/want to be together, they should choose option 2 (but never do).
