Anybody else feel they need a kid- break?

Not sure why but in the last week or so I really feel I need a break from my kids, particularly DD who is v hard work at the moment.

Normally they spend a week in the summer holidays at in-laws, but obviously haven't been able to the last couple of summers.

Hoping IL's will be ok with them having a week with them this year. I just need a few days of no mess, noise, arguing, bickering etc.

Not being mean.. I love them dearly but I am feeling totally wrung out at the moment.

Anyone else?

Yes!

Glad it's not just me!

We're living in a 'project' house surrounded by dust and chaos, plus working full time at a school. I just need a few days of no one asking me for anything/arguing with me / demanding stuff etc..

Every time I read a thread like this I can’t help feeling slightly jealous of people who have DGPs in the picture who can do this. We don’t so no ‘break’ - just 365-24/7 parenting.

They are in the picture, but live over 150 miles away so literally only get a week in a year, and even tgen they are getting older I think that's going to stop soon.

Yes! I try to take a day off once a term when the kids are at school, those 6 hours are great.

DH broke his ankle 4 months ago and still can't drive or walk for more than 5 mins without pain so I've been doing a lot and not had the house to myself in that time. I can't wait til he can take the kids to the park!

Maybe it's the fact we have all been locked down for so long?

I am seeing my mum w/e of the 22nd for the first time in nearly a year..she is VERY nervous about it and I have had to really impress on her that it will be fine..we have both been jabbed etc. I think seeing her and my brother and then best friend (who I will be stopping the night with) will really help.
