What can I do with teenagers son's old clothes

I've been getting stuff washed and ironed for the charity shop that DS doesn't want or out grown.
However there are a lot of good quality tc shirts/ hoodys/trackie bottoms that have his name or initials on from the sports clubs he used to play for.
They are too good quality to chuck in the bin but too personalised for a charity shop to sell on?
Any ideas?

Thanks

Offer back to club? Can the names be removed ?

Clothes bank?

The club doesn't exist any more.
The name is embroidered on so it would look a right mess is it was un picked. On some t shirts it's in vinyl so that can't come off either.

Could you get iron patches of footballs/ rugby balls and the like, to cover the name.

Our son’s club collects up and sends off last season’s kit to a sports charity - not sure which one exactly, but google turns up various options. (Perhaps the personalisation wouldn’t matter too much - after all, they’re all happy to have random footballers’ names in their backs...)

There's a charity called ReRun Clothing that takes running/sports gear and donates it, or upcycles it, or sells it on to reinvest where suitable. rerunclothing.org/

Maybe put an ad on local Facebook page and Freecycle page. There will be someone who won't mind stuff having name/initials on it or could cover it up in some way. Or maybe you'll find someone with the same name/initials.

Donate to charity for refugees? Our local one often asks for men's clothing in smaller sizes.

Buttybach · 14/05/2021 06:49

You could donate them to a local SEN school. We are always looking for changes of clothing for some of our more sensory children who like mud or wet play. Sometimes it's also handy when we have pupils with toileting needs x

Thanks for your replies.
We have an asylum seeker hub in my town and there's a couple of SEN respite centres
I have loads of stuff from t shirts trackies varsity jackets and so on so there's plenty to share out if it helps people.
