DS did this 2 years ago after his GCSEs. He went with his best friend and they had a brilliant time. It lasted 4 weeks - last week of June and 1st 3 of July and kept him busy whilst rest of the family were still at school.

My DD did this before she went to sixth form.
She adored it and, it was only about £50 I think

bonbonours · 09/05/2021 12:35

No but it looks brilliant, I'm keen for DD to do it when she's older

JenniferWeCantGoWrong · 09/05/2021 12:40

My daughter did it - she loved it and it's great value for money!

Sadly son's was cancelled last year.

Ted27 · 09/05/2021 12:43

My son did it last year, sadly not the planned 4 weeks, but a 2 week community project.

He had a great time, so he is doing a 3 week project this year, hopefully with a camp. He can't wait for it

I think the quality of experience depends on where the programme is being run/which provider is managing it.

I know relatives who have done it and their experiences differ. Still, the certificate is good for a CV.

DS's school always encourages the kids in Y11 to attend this- around 70 doing it this year 👍 The kids seem to enjoy it, they learn useful stuff, it's pretty cheap and gives them something to do over the long summer break- DS will be signing up for it next year.
