Urinary retention or something else?

I have gynae issues. Probably adenomyosis from US and 2 failed Mirena coils (neither stopped the bleeding and both came out after 3 months)

I'm now on northisterone twice daily until I see a gynae.

I often feel the need to urinate when my bladder actually isn't that full.

Sometimes I get a sudden urge and have to go right then. Again it's not completely full as I know I can hold more iyswim?

The past few days I've felt that my urine output isn't comparable to what I'm drinking and wondered if could be side effect of the tablets. Google does say it can cause water retention.

Today I keep getting that urge when not full to bursting and have a wee. Then a few seconds to 30 seconds later have another (and this happens 3-4 times) I'm not leaving loo as waiting because I know there's more iyswim?

But as soon as I leave the bathroom that need to go returns!

No pain or burning and no temp.

Little stomach discomfort but I'm always in pain in my lower pelvic area.

I'm also due my period today in my cycle and wondered if this could be related? (Eg my uterus may be bulky with patches of endo tissue in the wall even though I won't have a period due to the meds?)

Anyone got any ideas and any advice?

I have endo and around the time I'm due on I get a very overactive bladder that I never feel is completely emptied.

Thanks.

I did wonder as I've noticed urinary changes around ovulation and my period before.

But as I'm on northisterone as won't have a period I'm wondering if I'll still get that - because you have the cycle as such but not the bleeding. Hence why if you stop it the period starts. Because the endometrial lining still develops as far as I'm aware?

Perimenopause? that can cause UTI type things eg vaginal atrophy

Would I be having affects of peri whilst on northisterone which means I don't have periods?

(Actually quite embarrassed I don't know the answer to that 🤦🏼‍♀️)

I'm 40 so had wondered if my heavier and heavier and then every 36 he periods were peri.

But I know that's adenomyosis (or presents as such on US)

Don't know OP - might be worth a trip to the GP?

@Tuesdaysintheazores

Don't know OP - might be worth a trip to the GP?
Yeah that was what I was wondering.

I thought if anyone had an obvious answer I maybe could avoid it.

I'll see if it settles tomorrow and if not do an e consult in the evening that'll be picked up Monday.

It maybe the northisterone or adenomyosis but it doesn't seem 100% clear cut it's that!
