Gym leggings that aren't see through?

stripes416 · 07/05/2021 18:20

I've realised how see through my current gym leggings are and so I'm in need of some new ones. I've been looking at asos and next but a lot of the reviews comment on how see through they are, even the branded ones that are really expensive. Any recommendations?

Sweaty Betty aren't.

I don't think Nike are either.

samandpoppysmummy · 07/05/2021 22:41

I wear Nike Pro gym leggings. They are very comfortable and not at all see-through.

PurpleDaisies · 07/05/2021 22:44

My sweaty Betty ones are completely opaque. So are my under armour ones from sports pursuit so bargain.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 07/05/2021 23:10

ASDA sports leggings. Black, not remotely see through and come with a phone pocket on the thigh. £12 a pair.

I wear mine daily for work, washed after use and they've lasted me well over a year. I'm a dog walker so they get wet, sweaty, muddy and covered in dog hair and slobber. Wash and tumble dry perfectly and don't lose their shape.

I recently bought several spare pairs in case they decide to stop making them Grin

I asked for recommendations on running leggings recently and went for queenieke (Amazon) and some sweaty Betty ones.
I don’t like either and have both been relegated to my school PE kit.
I’m still on the hunt! I don’t even need them to be squat proof, I’m only going running in them Confused

Hereslookinatyou · 07/05/2021 23:53

Puma are great - the ones with the high and wide waist band (so comfy). Usually get them in sports direct in the sale, full price is about £30 I think

GravityFalls · 07/05/2021 23:54

Sweaty Betty are very good but £££. I just got some RBX ones for £20 from TK Maxx which for the price are a reasonable SB dupe. Worth a look!

Laufeythejust · 07/05/2021 23:59

I’ve tried so many pairs of leggings but the only ones that aren’t see through and don’t fall down are the sweaty Betty power leggings- has to be the power ones though as the others are crap and weirdly slippy.
If you are on a budget then fabletics are alright too but only the powerhold or the 247 ones. The others show your knickers. Sign up and get the 2 cheaper pairs then cancel so that you don’t end up forgetting and paying again the next month.

Sweaty Betty power leggings are great

SpeckledFrogsLog · 08/05/2021 07:50

Another vote for M&S. I particularly like the yoga ones as they have nice high waistbands and are lovely and soft. I tend to wait until I've got a 20% Sparks offer and then stock up. Makes them really good value.

Swimbikerun · 08/05/2021 07:54

kitchange.co.uk/ These are definitely squatproof , also brilliant to run in, tested to 20 miles and chafe free!

midnightstar66 · 08/05/2021 07:59

I just got a cheap pair from Matalan and was pleasantly surprised

EmmaStone · 08/05/2021 08:31

Sweaty Betty in the sale, or one of their deals. They're not all opaque, you definitely need to do the squat test, but they stay up and last forever. I've been buying from there for years, and have yet to retire a pair of leggings, they all look as good as new. I like the Power Leggings for running as there are 2 pockets.

MargaretFraggle · 08/05/2021 08:36

I am going to try the Asda and Decathlon ones based on this thread. I have had good ones from Boden (I love these and can always get a discount) M&S and H&M but none with pockets.

stripes416 · 08/05/2021 09:13

Thank you everybody. I have had two pairs from f&f, one were okay but ripped after a while and the others are the ones that are really thin. I have just ordered Nike and tried another f&f so will see how they are as a lot of people seemed happy with theirs. Will have a look at asda too. Does everybody wear sports tops to the gym or just regular tshirts?

TheChosenTwo · 08/05/2021 09:46

For the gym I wear either. Whichever comes out of the drawer first Grin
For running I wear technical sports tops.

lastqueenofscotland · 08/05/2021 10:16

Asics are fantastic
Rainbows and sprinkles are much better than the super twee name would have you believe too

@Quirrelsotherface

Sweaty Betty power leggings are great
Agree if you're going for SB they have to be the Power ones.
MogHog · 08/05/2021 10:30

Matalan leggings are great quality non of mine are see through. My RBX ones from tks are great too. I do love my rainbow and sprinkles ones though

Ah, now depending on the activity tops are definitely where you can economise.

Primark men's gym wear used to do a feat thin t shirt for about £6. DH used them as a base layer under his uber expensive cycling gear.

I like them in a small size for running in as they are a bit longer on the torso but still a bit fitted. On a really hot day I'll soak them in water before wringing out and putting on. Keeps me a bit cooler for longer but dries quickly.

Mayvis · 08/05/2021 10:35

Budget:
Decathlon
Tesco
Matalan

More pricey:
Tikiboo
LAP activewear (deals to be had though)
Nike

Lucy Locket used to have good reviews but quality has dropped drastically and customer service is poor. Not the same as they used to be.
