Spa at 35/36 weeks

Hi all,

Probably being precious, but as this is my first pregnancy I really have no idea. I've been invited to the spa when I'll be 35/36 weeks. Obviously, I know what I can and can't do in terms of hot tubs/saunas etc, but will it be a fun experience being that stage of pregnancy?

For some reason, I feel nervous I might fall, or that I will be generally be exhausted, struggle to get up and so on. But as I say, I have nothing to base this on as this is my first pregnancy! I might be being over cautious.

Any advice would be amazing
Thanks!

You’ll probably appreciate a pregnancy massage at that stage! Or having your toenails painted (as you might not be able to reach yourself...)

I wouldn’t have thought twice about going to a spa at that stage.

I have a spa date booked when I’ll be 38 weeks. Can’t wait, will be so ready for some pampering & R&R. Second pregnancy.

I am a member at a well known spa. They dont let you use the hot tubs or saunas that far through a pregnancy. So not much to do.

I went to a spa at a late stage in my pregnancy and still really enjoyed it; the weightless feeling of being in the swimming pool and just relaxing a bit. I did miss being able to go in the hot tub but even if it was ok to do in pregnancy I was always really hot anyway so wouldn’t have enjoyed it.

Personally I'd be annoyed I couldn't use much, so it might be a waste of money. However swimming and generally bobbing in the water at that stage is great. It takes away some weight and was the closest thing to lying on my stomach I had done in months, which was great for my back.

Definitely go!

I did one in late pregnancy, I went alone and just enjoyed the relaxing.

Spent the day dipping in the pool, lounging with a book, having a massage, going to lunch and getting a coffee.

@worrybutterfly @user648482729 Yes, not been swimming as yet in my pregnancy, so really looking forward to that actually!

@BendingSpoons Thank you for the advice - not that fussed re. the saunas etc, do like the thought of bobbing in the water so think I'll go.
