Random minor yet annoying things you are pissed off about

Particularly where you don't want to be mean to someone in real life about how annoying it is so want to get it out on here.

Example: It's lovely that my DM wants to help with washing up/loading the dishwasher, but lately I bought eight lovely bowls and a week later she knocked over four of them which smashed, and now I can't get the same ones to replace them as they are no longer available. I bought some more plainer, cheap bowls from IKEA yesterday and DH has already dropped and smashed one.

DM has also smashed one of my crystal gin glasses, one of a pair of crystal wine tumblers, and even years ago I had a matching set of six wine glasses for approximately five minutes when she smashed one in the sink. She isn't elderly and doesn't have mobility problems, arthritis or anything like that. A lot of her helping is just actually not helpful at all - fussing, fannying about and interfering and makes things more difficult for me.

Ok, everyone breaks things sometimes, I do all the cooking and a lot of the tidying and have dropped the odd plate over the years, but everyone else seems so much more disproportionately careless with my stuff. Stop being so bloody clumsy and breaking my stuff!

I forgot to say she also just smashed my nicest olive oil. Sad

That would piss me off too. Your DM sounds exceptionally clumsy.

Dumping stuff in the sink. I have dumped it in the sink therefore I have cleared up. No you haven't, you've left everything in the sink for me to clear up. Clearly moving an additional six foot to the dishwasher is physically too demanding.

Not sure someone being so disrespectful should be helping you op..

My MIL helps out with childcare by looking after DD a day and a half each week. It’s fantastic for their bonding and she’s a lovely woman.

But I’m really struggling with having an extra person in our house for 2 nights a week. One of us drives to pick her up as she doesn’t drive, and there is a lot of extra washing up etc. Obviously I’m being hugely unreasonable because she’s doing us a bit favour and DD loves spending time with her granny but I find myself being quite irrationally irritated by it.

DH not putting the empty toilet roll cardboard in the bin which is opposite the toilet and you don't even have to leave the seat, it's that close to reach.

On that note, forever cleaning the bathroom.

People knocking on my door trying to sell me things then being rude when I'm not interested even though I'm polite they get pushy

My mil used to take it upon herself to do our ironing. Crack on - but she ironed pants /T towels /pj's.
And folded ironed shirts onto small folded up squares...

My washer-dryer which beeps at top volume every 30 seconds until Doomsday whenever it finishes a cycle.

Yes yes I know you've finished drying, good little dryer (I mean it is literally your only job but whatever) but it's 2am SHUT UP PLEASE.

Ha ha! I can imagine you wearing shirts with creases like a tablecloth Smile
