If someone could buy you one thing to make your life better what would you chose?
Rules : less then 500 pounds
: it has to be for you?
Someone asked me this and I couldn't think of anything as I pick things for the house or the kids.

A new kindle paperwhite- mine won't charge and I miss reading after the lights are out.

I bought a robot hoover recently - that has made my life better as I HATE hoovering but get annoyed by the dustballs that will eventually gather if I don't hoover.
I class this as for me as no-one else would ever hoover.

Would also really like someone to valet my car and get it squeaky clean inside but I always find other things to spend the money on.

A cleaner and also motivation and the will to exercise!

Lemonelderflower · 04/05/2021 10:23

One of those mamaroo vibrating chairs - might get me a bit of peace! Smile

Thefamilybusiness · 04/05/2021 10:25

Gym membership

LaBellina · 04/05/2021 10:25

If £499 or less could buy me enough discipline to lose the weight I need to lose that would definitely be life changing.

A new dishwasher. Ours broke months ago. Some days I have to wash up 3 times, some days I come home from a 13hr shift that finished late and have to wash up before I can start making DC’s packed lunch which isn’t what I want to do at nearly 10pm after being on my feet all day, my hands are cracked and sore which is mostly from work but washing up all the time isn’t helping.

PeskyRooks · 04/05/2021 10:36

A kingsize bed with memory foam mattress and pillows all new bedding a big puffy duvet! My bed is knackered and saggy but the kids need new ones first!

Aprilshowersandhail · 04/05/2021 10:36

A ddog trainer to transform my hooligan overgrown dpuppy...

BestOption · 04/05/2021 10:44

Could I please use it towards some tests to try to establish why I feel so dreadful.

TableDesk · 04/05/2021 10:45

I'd get my oven professionally cleaned

goingtotown · 04/05/2021 10:45

Respectful neighbours.

Funnyface1 · 04/05/2021 10:46

One of those lumea hair zapper things.

Katyy · 04/05/2021 10:47

Physio for my poor neck.

PottyTrainingissues · 04/05/2021 10:47

I’d spend it on a cleaner / professional organiser

Marmite27 · 04/05/2021 10:50

New woks from procook, plus a 28cm casserole and small and medium frying pan.

A small and medium Pyrex dish.

About £200.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 04/05/2021 10:58

PottyTrainingissues, I'm with you. I'd love a professional organiser and cleaner, someone gentle, efficient and nonjudgemental, who wouldn't shout and get annoyed, just help me to slowly declutter and learn strategies to keep on top of things.

It would be £500 well spent!

That doesn't sound fair at all. Isn't there anyone else in the house who could do this? What about the people who created the mess?
badlydrawnbear · 04/05/2021 11:54

HollowTalk yes, I am aware that this is also, in MN terms, a DH problem not a dishwasher problem. He would probably see a new dishwasher as much more of a priority if he was the one doing all the washing up.

Anyway, my other answer to OP’s question: I would pay for counselling once face-to-face is an option again. But a dishwasher would make me happy and save me time, but counselling would make me cry and, based on previous experience, make me feel worse. I would be hoping that this time, unlike previously, I would eventually feel better for it and it would be worth it (not at all convinced).

Timeforabiscuit · 04/05/2021 12:05

A new desk and office chair

cheeseisthebest · 04/05/2021 13:54

Changing the subject but I would love a job as a professional organiser and declutterer!

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 04/05/2021 14:13

Cheese you should set yourself up as a business. There would be a market for your skills! Grin

Themadcatparade · 04/05/2021 14:21

My ccj to be wiped off my credit report early.

Themadcatparade · 04/05/2021 14:22

@Funnyface1 they are life changing. I invested in one a month ago and the results have been pretty dramatic!
