Do you let your toddlers splash in the bath??

My DH hasn't spoken to me since yesterday because I wouldn't stop our 2 year old splashing in the bath yesterday.
I do stop him from purposefully throwing water out the bath but in this case he was just having fun and some water was splashing onto the floor. We have a bath mat and I mop up any water after.

Is it me? I want my son to have fun and I feel like I spend most of the day telling him not to do stuff so don't l want him to stop enjoying bath time too.

We let DD splash in the bath, yes she sometimes gets excited and water ends up bloody everywhere but we let it slide, it can be wiped. It's one place where there aren't any 'no's'

Mine always splashed in the bath, it's normal. How did it affect your husband?

Movisoul · 04/05/2021 10:08

Your husband sound awful. Is there any good reason why your toddler can't splash? I would find it extremely mean and bizarre to ban it. That's what little kids enjoy and it's natural. To be so against it and then to stop speaking to you - sounds weird and not a particularly nice man!

I just pull the shower curtain round most of the way and tell them that water stays in the bath. Any deliberate pouring etc gets quickly squashed but they do splash a bit. I reckon DH gets more water everywhere having his shower.
