Have tiu paid more than usual for a UK holiday this summer?

Prices for my usual self catering break seem to have gone up enormously this year. I understand why property owners have felt the need to charge more and I understand why there's increased demand for UK holidays. I'm wondering who the people are who've paid the extra.

Is it people who usually go abroad? If foreign travel does open up, will you regret having booked a holiday at home? Will you try to change it?

Or is it your usual holiday, but frankly you'll pay whatever it takes to have a week away after the year we've had?

If you usually have a budget holiday, have you paid the inflated prices or have you been able to find something similar to usual?

We usually have a holiday abroad each year but last year's was cancelled and we have not booked for this year.

I would not pay over the odds for a UK holiday as you can't guarantee the weather!

We usually go abroad to Europe and also to visit family (two trips iyswim)

We've booked camping in the UK this summer. No more expensive than we usually pay for UK campsites, but we booked early due to worry of dwindling availability.

Chose not to risk foreign travel this summer, as we don't want to have I cancelled and but holiday-less (if that could be a word)

We haven’t planned any holiday for the foreseeable p, but browsing the self catering places we’d usually look at, prices have risen and everything g is booked for over a year. I refuse to go somewhere that is less comfortable than home, so won’t be looking at anything that’s left over.

No and I wouldn't pay over the odds tbh. I still have a holiday abroad booked (booked 2 years ago, moved from last summer to this one) which I am waiting to the last minute to decide whether to cancel or not!

I haven’t planned a UK or indeed any holiday this year - I expect UK holidays to be pricier than usual and regarding non UK holidays not willing to travel due to Covid / relatively poor uptake of vaccine outside UK / risk of green countries turning amber / red whilst I’m away and resulting cost of quarantine / risk of unpaid leave .

Have booked 2 UK holidays. One is usual price. One is a holiday park and I’ve never looked at peak season prices there before but I assume it’s more this year. However we are sharing with friends so the cost isn’t too astronomical and it will be cheaper than our usual holiday abroad so I’m going to complain too much.

We haven't paid over the odds we usually do short trips around Scotland and a foreign holiday in Sept.
This year we booked 10 days in Scotland mixture of campervan and a house incase of the weather. Tbh with a toddler and dog we are used for being outside whatever the weather! 😂

I wouldn’t pay over the odds but then I’m not one who goes on the traditional summer holiday anyway. I see the logic if you have dc and want to break up the summer holls, but otherwise I find it nicer to go at other times of year (cheaper too!). I’m lucky in that DSis lives in Cornwall (I’m in London) so will definitely go and visit her, although that’s more about seeing her than visiting the place. I might go somewhere in Europe for a few days, but would book that last minute anyway. Anything long haul I’ve left off the table for now.

I haven’t booked anything yet (well I’ve booked two but they’ve been cancelled). I’m not expecting to pay more than usual. I went to Centre Parcs last week and that was cheap because the pool isn’t open.
I normally go abroad and plan to this year.
