Ebay selling, EU countries and customs charges

I'm a private seller who just sells my old, unwanted stuff from around the house. Everything's on Buy It Now listings, so the items just sell whenever.

If you sell to EU countries, have you had any feedback from your buyers as to whether they've had to pay a customs charge to receive the parcel or not? I've only sold one item outside the UK this year, and she left positive feedback and didn't say anything else.

Has anyone here put a note on their listings, saying you might have to pay a customs charge if you live outside the UK? This is all about avoiding bad feedback and complaints etc, so even if you think it's something that everyone should know, there's always going to be people who claimed they didn't know etc, so I'm just trying to protect myself.

Look into global shipping program. You post your package to ebay gsp centre -an address in the uk - they add the customs paperwork and send it on to the buyers address.

Buyer pays any customs fees upfront at checkout. Once eBay have emailed you to say it's been received at the uk address, they take responsibility for it so you're then protected from bad feedback.

Ah, thanks but that's not what I'm looking for. I've heard so many bad reviews of the GSP, and I prefer to just send my own parcels normally, especially as there aren't that many of them. I was just wondering if anyone had had any feedback or complaints from their buyers.

No complaints here but as per PP advice I sell through the GSP and have never had any problems. They refunded me almost £500 for an item that got damaged in transit because it had left their depot perfect.
If you're concerned that overseas buyers are unaware of customs charges then maybe add something to your listings warning them of this? Or you could just use GSP. Confused
