Can any terrarium experts ID this little plant?

It’s one that requires little water (that’s what DD was told but looking at the state of it, we may have under-watered!).

I’ve Googled and can’t find anything like it.

I'm rubbish at IDing but wonder if that's a jade plant - crassula ovata

SomethingOnce · 26/04/2021 19:39

Thanks for replying. That was the closest I found, but they’re succulent looking - this one isn’t and has a distinct crease down the leaf.

See, I said I was rubbish! Smile

Prayer pepper maybe?

SomethingOnce · 26/04/2021 20:12

Tbf, Banana, it may yet turn out to be a very poorly Crassula ovata Grin

No, no, Guillermo has it! It’s an only-slightly-peaky Prayer Pepper like this!

Thanks so much!

Not a Crassula, it’s a Peperomia, most likely Peperomia dolabriformis. I’m not sure that a terrarium is the best environment for it, or any succulents really, as they require plenty of sun and good air flow.

Thanks, Nan. I say terrarium but the keen-eyed will see from the photo it’s in a very stylish... open jar Grin

DCs made these jar terraria (plants with remnant original compost, gravel, sand and decorative stones) at an event and the plants have survived in a sunnyish spot by the kitchen window since autumn 2019 with fortnightly watering.

DS’s is an (easily ID’d) Haworthia fasciata which needs moving to a new home ASAP or it will be forever stuck in its jar. I bought a glass fishbowl sort of thing and hoped to chuck the Haworthia and the healthier bits of this Peperomia in together, if I could figure out how to propagate the latter. Might have a go with one of the side shoots and see what happens.

Thanks everyone, I knew MN would yield the answer Star
