Best gadget you've bought for under £10?

Mine is a motion-detecting striplight that switches off after 30 seconds of no motion.

I put it across a shelf in my bedroom facing the bed. I switches on when I enter and stays on whilst I undress and wash, then switches off 30 secs after I get into bed.

If I get up in the night to use the loo it switches on so I can see my way out to the landing, is off whilst I am absent then switches on when I return.

Any time I am in bed in the dark I can raise my hand high and it will switch on for 30 seconds.

It's made my life far easier as I don't have space for a bedside light.

Love to hear your best bargain gadget that costs less than £10.

Home Bargains Litter Picker £1.29.

I have one in the car and several dotted around the house and one for use in the garden.

Marvellous things especially when you have a bad back like I do from time to time.

A plug in light for the landing - about a fiver

Solar fairy lights for the garden - a tenner

wingsnthat · 25/04/2021 19:54

A smart light bulb - I love being able to control my lights using my phone. Likewise, a smart plug so I can do the same with any other electrical item.

PermanentTemporary · 25/04/2021 19:55

Frivolous but I love my battery powered milk frother (about a fiver). I can't be bothered with a coffee machine and just drink instant mostly, but the frother is fun.

Floralnomad · 25/04/2021 19:58

A cherry stoner , only use it during English cherry season but it’s brilliant

theemmadilemma · 25/04/2021 20:09

Heated eyelash curler.

Piemam · 25/04/2021 23:12

Same as @PermanentTemporary, milk frother! Love the smoothness in my instant coffee!Grin
@CallMeCleo, that sounds fab, do you remember the shop?

Thank you @CallMeCleo!

@theemmadilemma which heated curlers do you use? I've got some that you need to use after the first coat of mascara but it then melts it off. They're a wand-style, bought to replace my fab No 7 ones from years ago!! I'm not very impressed with mine tbh, it's a bit of a faff and I stick with my manual ones

Watermelonwoman · 03/05/2021 09:52

Balloon pumpGrin

I am also interested in the heated eyelash curlers. The eyelashes on my right eye just refuse to hold a curl, my left ones look lovely, my right ones - nope!

Woodlandbelle · 03/05/2021 10:56

A lazy Susan for my kitchen cupboards. Whizz it around and find the ketchup easilyGrin

The light sounds great OP

These were the ones I ordered and they work much better than I expected!

@theemmadilemma thank you - do you use a coat of mascara first as they suggest?

I do a thin coat of a fairly light one, and then a thicker mascara after. They hold up pretty well, certainly better than I've managed with manual curlers alone.

@theemmadilemma Thank you for the tips...off to retry mine now!!! SmileSmile

I'd love to see what milk frother you have. I can't justify the expensive ones for the odd hot chocolate.

A little clock from IKEA that tells the time, date, day of the week and temperature, with an alarm and timer. I love that it's tiny and lights up too.
