Hi, I put this here due to volume of people. Just a quick question, who do I report very offensive /sexist and just wrong slogans on clothing and underwear to? Tia.

The shop selling it and/or manufacturer I suppose if you’re talking about clothes in a shop. Or did you mean is there a regulatory body to companion to?

Sorry I wasn't clear! It's a clothing website and some of the underwear they are selling has very offensive slogans on. I guess I meant a regulatory body. I don't know who the manufacturer is but I do think the people who own the web store hold responsibility as they chose to purchase this stuff. If I could find out who actually makes it then all the better but first I want to report the site.

Where is the website based? As in what country?

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/04/2021 15:14

Hmm How offensive are they?

AIMD · 21/04/2021 15:14

I’m not sure if there is a regulatory body for these sorts of things. Social media can be useful for highlighting issues of the company aren’t responsive when you complain. Consumer pressure.

Challenging on Twitter seems to be the fastest way.

TimeToParty · 21/04/2021 15:15

I suspect (but don’t know for certain) that if they aren’t breaking any laws then there’s nothing you can do formally. If it’s just tshirts with profanities on for example then some people will find it offensive and some won’t.

Hoppinggreen · 21/04/2021 15:20

If it’s not illegal in the country where they are made and/or sold I dont think there is anything you can do. There isn’t a Regulatory body for that sort of thing.

Thanks for your replies they are helpful!

I’d agree with this. If it’s something like a sexual slogan on a child top etc highlighting it on Twitter can get the reaction from companies.
CattingTime · 21/04/2021 15:52

I'd like to know what the slogans are.
