What is this skin condition? GP not helpful

GP has said eczema, possibly psoriasis but said it doesn’t look anything like it as isn’t flaky or itchy.

I wake up and more appear. Anywhere I parted my head, they’re there. Awful things, just sore, bloody holes. It gives me a pressure headaches. GP keeps giving different creams but nothing helps

Any ideas what it could be? I need another opinion I know

It looks like psoriasis to me, I've had it all my life. Mine doesn't itch but I do get flakes. If your gp is stumped then I'd ask for a referral to dermatology.

Looks like the psoriasis my ex had too. Do you get sores anywhere else or just your head?

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 21/04/2021 13:36

It looks like Psoriasis to me too, I have it on my scalp and all up my back.

It doesn’t itch at all. I’d ask to be referred to Dermatology if your GP isn’t sure.

@PlanterGents this was exactly my ONLY symptom that I was coeliac. Luckily for me my GP decided to run a blood test on me and that was the one that came back positive. Three months later my sister was screened and she tested positive for coeliac disease two - also had very sore scalp. Neither of us were at all aware or had gut symptoms. I would ask for a blood test for coeliac disease.

Thank you - I have smooth and problem free skin elsewhere on my body. No other issues.

No flaky skin at all with this, they don’t even seem to scab over Sad just little open wounds everywhere

GP insists it is probably eczema! But nothing prescribed for that works. Awful stuff Envy

I have to agree with BCBG if they have any little blisters in them then it could be dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) which is the skin version of coeliac disease

I have this and was told that the blister rash on my hands was pomflox eczema and dermatitis on my head when it was DH, it’s poorly spotted by gps mine was dismissed for years

I ended up in a wheelchair due to misdiagnosis and only recovered when I went on an exclusion diet and my rash dried up!

Finally it was diagnosed and I’m much better now but I’ve been left with permanent damage due to it being misdiagnosed for 15 years

BashfulClam · 21/04/2021 13:51

It could be discoid lupus. DH has bits like that on his scalp from it and they aren’t itchy at all. The gp had no idea what it was and treated him for excema, psoriasis and rosacea. Ask for a dermatology referral as that was the only way DH got his diagnosis.
