Parents of 5 grown up kids adopt 7 young siblings - thoughts?

Has anybody come across this lady before? She's on Instagram as @Second.chance.seven

I'm amazed that they have the energy and determination to raise 7 troubled kids- they're certainly really selfless people.

My first question is - HOW can they afford it? It looks like the kids go to private school (uniforms in the USA seems to be only for private school). I think both parents still work, but I don't think they are in top earning jobs.

Secondly- not sure if sharing the kids details on Instagram is really a good idea. Their names and faces are posted regularly and I hope this isn't about getting fame / company endorsements / insta ads.

in circumstances such as this they may receive some funding from the state because these kids needed to be kept together.

In this case it would be substantial funding, especially since the DC have diagnoses of FAS, ADHD etc. I don't think for a moment anyone would take on 7 children for the payments, but the children are funded up to the age of 18 (at least).

I don’t usually comment on these threads but I’ve just had a look and the things they’re putting out on social media about there previous life seems very very wrong and I can see some very angry adults coming out of this wanted to know why the world know about there parents addiction problem and so on...

I knew before clicking on them that they would be evangelical Christians. I used to follow quite a few blogs where they adopted large sibling sets or those from crisis areas such as Haiti. There was very much a 'look how godly we are' vibe and I get this from this family. I suspect that is why they are putting themselves out there and hoping for a TV contract.

@DDIJ

Sorry somebody has already mentioned the Harts. I am slow.
I'd not heard of the Hart's. What a horrific situation. Obv killing your biological children Vs adopted children isn't less bad or more bad bit it does seem an extra level of something. Like you could literally return them. You picked the ones you got. You have plenty of chance to send them back. There's a whole set of family out there who wanted them to stay with them but you took them anyway and killed them.
