Violent child with special needs

Hi just wondering if I can vent and gather some information really. I posted here as there is more traffic.

I have a DD who is 11 and is severely disabled but mobile. Part of one of her disabilities makes her prone to violent behaviour and she has exhibited challenging behaviour since she was a young toddler.

I'm getting really burnt out at the moment as I am attacked all the time, hit and kicked and items thrown at me every day. This can be be a good day or a rubbish day.

My DH and I keep tearing ourselves apart wondering how.much longer we can do this.

We get direct payments but it feels like now enough to help and I'm getting push back from social services re the hours for one child.

If you have a child like ours are they still at home?

That sounds exhausting OP. There is an SEN board which maybe more helpful. I hope someone with some experience comes along soon.

Vent OP - this is a miserable situation to be in. There is not enough help and support for parents in your situation. Flowers

I have a child with severe autism and learning disabilities,he's very nearly 11 he also has challenging behaviour,,he bites and scratches, yes he's at home ,I know friends of mine with children with similar needs are considering residential school,it's not something I'm ready to consider yet ,it's such a difficult and personal decision
