Is 2 and a half, 2 and under?

For the purposes of buying a zoo ticket. DD is 2 and a half now, 2 and under go free. She's unbelievably tall for her age and I would be mortified if someone called me out for trying to get her in for free if I should have bought her a ticket. Blush

Its been a long week, I'm sure I'm over thinking this.

I think 2 and under is all ages until the day they turn 3.

No she has to be less than 2 to be under 2. So less than 24 months.

I always take it as anything under 3. No one has ever queried that and I take a lot of children on a lot of days out 🤣

I'd say its up to age 2 so 2 ½ is too old

Not sure why it doesn't just say under 3s but maybe people would think that includes 3 year olds!

I would take that as she gets in free - 2 and under means up to three years old. If it said under twos free, then that would mean 0-24 months in free.

Yes. It means children aged 2 or younger, i.e. all children that have not yet turned 3.

She is 2 so to me is included in 'up to 2' or surely it would say 'one and under'?

I had the embarrassment once of taking two Reception age children on a little train. Under 5s went free.
'One adult, and these two are free', I said at the kiosk.
'No, I'm not!! I'm 4' declared one.
'I'm 4 too! I'm not free!'
Not Three, kids, Free...
Good job I wasn't trying to sneak them in over age.

2 and under couldn't be clearer, it means children who are 0,1 or 2. How is that in any way confusing Grin

Under 2 = 24 months or less so 2 AND UNDER means 2 years old and less than 2. And she is 2 so her ticket will be free.

They should just say under 3s

2 and under means any child who hasn't has the third birthday yet. You are fine OP
