Is 2 and a half, 2 and under?

For the purposes of buying a zoo ticket. DD is 2 and a half now, 2 and under go free. She's unbelievably tall for her age and I would be mortified if someone called me out for trying to get her in for free if I should have bought her a ticket. Blush

Its been a long week, I'm sure I'm over thinking this.

I think 2 and under is all ages until the day they turn 3.

sadpapercourtesan · 14/04/2021 21:29

Yes, she's 2! Halves don't count Grin

underneaththeash · 14/04/2021 21:30

No she has to be less than 2 to be under 2. So less than 24 months.

Sorry I misread - yes she’s 2 so that’s fine!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 14/04/2021 21:30

I always take it as anything under 3. No one has ever queried that and I take a lot of children on a lot of days out 🤣

candlemasbells · 14/04/2021 21:31

Yes she’s still free, not free once she’s three because it’s 2 and under

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 21:31

I'd say its up to age 2 so 2 ½ is too old

Namechangeforthis88 · 14/04/2021 21:31

Yes, it's two and under, she's two.

Normandy144 · 14/04/2021 21:31

She's 2 so she goes free until she turns 3.

Wurrg · 14/04/2021 21:31

She can go free up until she turns 3. 2 and under includes those who are 2,which she is.

emvy · 14/04/2021 21:31

“2 AND under” so she’s included until she’s 3.

UCOinanOCG · 14/04/2021 21:31

I think it means children up to the age of 2.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 21:32

Strange wording though. Surely they'd just say under 3s if that's what they meant

UCOinanOCG · 14/04/2021 21:32

But it is a weird way of phrasing it.

campion · 14/04/2021 21:33

@underneaththeash

No she has to be less than 2 to be under 2. So less than 24 months.
OP says 2 and under, ie under 3.

Not sure why it doesn't just say under 3s but maybe people would think that includes 3 year olds!

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2021 21:33

Yes, she's two

NannyR · 14/04/2021 21:33

I would take that as she gets in free - 2 and under means up to three years old. If it said under twos free, then that would mean 0-24 months in free.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 14/04/2021 21:33

Yes. It means children aged 2 or younger, i.e. all children that have not yet turned 3.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 21:35

Which zoo and can you link to the prices page?

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 14/04/2021 21:38

Yes. She’s two, so she goes free.

Scarby9 · 14/04/2021 21:38

She is 2 so to me is included in 'up to 2' or surely it would say 'one and under'?

Scarby9 · 14/04/2021 21:42

I had the embarrassment once of taking two Reception age children on a little train. Under 5s went free.
'One adult, and these two are free', I said at the kiosk.
'No, I'm not!! I'm 4' declared one.
'I'm 4 too! I'm not free!'
Not Three, kids, Free...
Good job I wasn't trying to sneak them in over age.

FlyingBurrito · 14/04/2021 21:45

2 and under couldn't be clearer, it means children who are 0,1 or 2. How is that in any way confusing Grin

RizzleRazzle · 14/04/2021 21:48

Under 2 = 24 months or less so 2 AND UNDER means 2 years old and less than 2. And she is 2 so her ticket will be free.

They should just say under 3s

KeyboardWorriers · 14/04/2021 21:50

2 and under means any child who hasn't has the third birthday yet. You are fine OP
