Heating still on?

I still have my heating on, have you turned yours off? If you have, how do you stay warm in the evenings?

Ours is on still, with it off the house quickly drops to 13°.

H1978 · 14/04/2021 20:38

Ours is still on in the evenings too, we are in Yorkshire. During the day I stay in my dressing gown to keep warm and put the heating on after kids come back from school.

Mine's still on for an hour in the mornings and the evenings, my house is not too bad but needs that little "boost" to keep it at a reasonable temperature. I suspect I'll switch it off once it starts getting a little warmer overnight.

I put it back on if it's cold.

YukoandHiro · 14/04/2021 20:40

Mine's been on for a couple of hours today. I've been known to have it on in May tbh. Drafty Victorian

nzborn · 14/04/2021 20:41

Still on

Northernsoullover · 14/04/2021 20:41

I've been putting mine on but its getting too hot very quickly so probably an hour max both morning and evening.

DungeonKeeper · 14/04/2021 20:42

Mines still on morning and evening. It’s not warm enough yet.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/04/2021 20:43

Absolutely yes! Ours was on pretty much all day yesterday (wfh and 2 students here) and we're in the softy South East.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/04/2021 20:45

Yes, it's sodding freezing!! 🥶

SpringItIsThen · 14/04/2021 20:45

I turn the heating off/down and on/up if it's cold or warm.

Currently using my electric blanket - keeps me nicely warm but don't need the heating on.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 20:46

Mine is controlled by a timer and thermostat so it goes on and off when required. It is never physically turned off

AledsiPad · 14/04/2021 20:47

It’s snowed this week, of course it’s on!

Megan2018 · 14/04/2021 20:47

Ours is always on but only kicks in if the temp drops below a certain temp which is zoned (we have underfloor heating and air source heat pump so it’s not instant heat).
We light the woodburner at night though which warms up the whole house. I love the heat from the fire.

Ideasplease322 · 14/04/2021 20:50

I am currently wrapped in a heated blanket😂😂

RichardMarxisinnocent · 14/04/2021 20:50

I don't switch my heating off (or on for that matter), the thermostat determines whether it comes on or not. At the moment it's coming on for an hour in the evenings, in deepest winter it would be on for all 3 hours it's timed to be on for.

MrsPsmalls · 14/04/2021 20:50

Its on a thermostat is is never turned off. Obviously it never actually turns itself on in the summer, but yes its definitely still coming on from time to time at the moment.

devildeepbluesea · 14/04/2021 20:51

An hour here and there yes.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 14/04/2021 20:51

Sorry, I meant thermostat and timer, not just the thermostat.

SionnachGlic · 14/04/2021 20:52

I have windows open most of day when sunny/mild but once the sun fades it gets quite cold & heat set for 7.30 -8.30pm...which is fine for rest of the evening. This eve felt baltic after a lovely sunny day & I was going to boost the heat but held off. Usually in bed & cosy by 10.30/11.

LBOCS2 · 14/04/2021 20:52

Yes, as we had quite a lot of snow on Monday!

Ours is on a thermostat and timer - it comes on if it's below 17 degrees.

Scarby9 · 14/04/2021 20:52

Absolutely it is on.
Minus 1 yesterday morning - I had to chip the car out to get to work.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 14/04/2021 20:54

Still on

vinoandbrie · 14/04/2021 20:55

Ours is on!

FlyingBurrito · 14/04/2021 20:57

What have I missed, has there been some kind of directive that heating must be turned off Confused

As a grown woman I decide based on the temperature each day whether heating is needed, why would anyone do differently budget issues excluded?
