Or thereabouts..

What are you doing?
Who are you with?
How do you FEEL?

Has life treated you well?
Are you pleased how life has panned out so far?

(Fun nostalgic thread)

Having one last go with my dickhead of an ex-husband. (Clearly a wasted effort)

At university, doing a degree in something I'd always wanted to. Raising three children under 5.

Just beginning to head into the best years of my life and realising who I was and what I wanted.

I left my ex. On the face of it we had a fantastic life, and I could have settled with him, but I just didn't love him - largely because behind closed doors there was zero affection and I felt like I was taken for granted. It was really scary to make the leap while everyone around me was settling down/having children/buying houses, but it was also quite exciting to feel like I had my thirties ahead of me on my terms.

Don't worry about meeting perceived "milestones". 30 is so young and you can still have many opportunities ahead if you wish to take them!

I was living abroad and having a great time. A couple of days before my birthday I got really bad gastroenteritis and my guts had turned themselves inside out. The lowest point was actually crawling to the bathroom as I couldn't stand. I managed to get dressed up for my themed 30th birthday party but couldn't stomach any alcohol despite everyone wanting to buy me shots, felt pretty sad I couldn't party properly.
10 years on my now DH made a superb effort for my 40th, he's the best

I turned 30 in May last year. Pandemic notwithstanding, my first year as a 30 something has been great!

My birthday was in full-on lockdown but DH and I had recently moved into our first owned home and I’d just submitted my Masters dissertation. I found out a few weeks later that I not only passed with distinction, I won a medal for graduating at the top of my cohort. I started the PhD programme I’ve been working toward for years and things couldn’t be going better in that regard. I was also in a position to upgrade my car to one I’ve been eyeing up for years (a 2017 plate - the newest car I’ve ever owned Grin)

I feel like I spent my 20s working my arse off and so far, my 30s are about enjoying the rewards Grin
