Having a few glasses of wine tonight after not drinking for over a year. Best hangover cures or tips please?

Eat something stodgy (like porridge) along with a big glass of water before going to sleep. Works for me every time!

Youaremysunshine09 · 10/04/2021 21:03

@suzzze thank you, I hate porridge though, anything similar?

Irn bru and a crunchie.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 10/04/2021 21:04

Take paracetamol and drink a pint of water before bed.

PoutineQueen · 10/04/2021 21:11

Cheese on toast, with crusty white bread cut thick.

Chip butties with ketchup.

A kebab.

AdaColeman · 10/04/2021 21:11

In the morning
Start with a vodka Bloody Mary.
Then
Full English (or Irish) breakfast, several mugs of hot sweet tea.
You'll be grand!

PuppyMonkey · 10/04/2021 21:15

In the morning - white toast with butter, Coca Cola. Go back to sleep.

BaggoMcoys · 10/04/2021 21:17

Diaroltye rehydration salt sachet in water, one before bed and one in the morning.

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 10/04/2021 21:53

Before you go to bed have a rehydration sachet (ie Dioralyte or generic). Not the nicest but if you swig it down then have a drink of water to get rid of the taste it is a bit more bearable.

In the morning have an effervescent Vit C & Zinc tablet (ie Berroca or generic) & 2 paracetamol.

Works like a dream every time. When I worked in pharmacy an older pharmacist told me this remedy and I have always used this if I know I may have more than a few of drinks.

No headache or upset tum feeling the next day at all.

Wanderlusto · 10/04/2021 21:55

Get so drunk you throw most of it up before sleeping xD

ParkheadParadise · 10/04/2021 21:58

In the morning
Roll n sausage with a fried egg and potato scone
Washed down with a glass bottle of Irn bru straight from the fridge.
Spend the day in bed.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 10/04/2021 22:01

Those rehydration sachets are all shit because they all have sweeteners in them. Sweeteners give me the shits and cause my gut to cramp. Make your own by mixing a litre of water with half a teaspoon of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of salt. You can also get a form of Berocca (again, more fucking sweeteners) that's sweetener free called High C.

@BaggoMcoys

Diaroltye rehydration salt sachet in water, one before bed and one in the morning.

This is a game changer

MrsBungle · 10/04/2021 22:04

Paracetamol and pint of water tonight. Tomorrow morning - can of Coke or irn bru and cooked breakfast. Then go back to sleep.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 10/04/2021 22:06

Irn bru was fab. Now it's got sweeteners in it.

BurbageBrook · 10/04/2021 22:08

Agree, lots of water and a carby snack before bed. Sometimes even a cup of herbal tea as well. As you can tell I’m pretty rock and roll.

Cheese on toast!

WittyWithWine · 11/04/2021 00:25

Last night's leftover pizza eaten cold with a pint of milk.

HarrietSchulenberg · 11/04/2021 00:41

Pint of water before bed. Fried egg butty and strong tea for breakfast. Maybe sugar in the tea even if you don't normally have it.

Years ago I heard about a cure being a pint of water with something like half a teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of sugar dissolved in it. Never tried it as was too busy scoffing fried eggs and swigging tea.

seepingweeping · 11/04/2021 08:43

Irn bru and a fry up

Whatapalavaa · 11/04/2021 11:22

Charcoal tablets before bed (Holland and barrett)
