For under a tenner. My diet is shit and I'm feeling it. I have asd so it's going to take time to improve it due to food aversions/ brain being an idiot. Thank you.

If you can afford it (slightly more than £10) but spatone sachets with vitamin C are massively helping my chronic anaemia.

I take floradix before breakfast and dinner (there are a few available, I take the one with the b vits). It's £8 on Amazon and lasts about two weeks, so maybe a little over what you're looking for. I've had my iron levels checked as I'm pregnant and they were good, so I would recommend it though

Forgot to say, they need to be gelatine free.

I use HealthSpan vitality and Spatone (the latter always seems to be on 3 for 2 in Boots)

Iron Plus Liquid from Home Bargains. About £2.

Most supermarkets do a decent range of own brand i buy mine in asda not sure if its gelatine free though, its a tablet though not a gel type capsule.

FindingMeno · 10/04/2021 13:52

I get a Co op own brand multivitamin and mineral with iron.

If it’s iron you need it’s absolutely pointless taking it in a multivitamin

You need to take iron away from dairy and tea/coffee and preferably with vitamin C/orange juice/an orange or kiwi. Iron is notoriously difficult to absorb.

WeekendCEO · 10/04/2021 13:56

I take these, they’re for vegans and vegetarians so no gelatine.

Why is it pointless in a multivitamin? And what’s the relevance of the rest of your post? It’s not like multivitamins contain coffee

If you have the extra cash to spare: wild nutrition all the way!

cheesebubble · 10/04/2021 15:31

Ignore, I just saw the "under a tenner".

ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn · 10/04/2021 15:40

I use Sanatogen A-Z Complete, super cheap, and also take a cheap calcium, magnesium and Vit D one a day too.

It's not just iron I need, it's all the vitamins and minerals. I'm currently living on cheese salad wraps, toast and frozen pizza.

Thanks all, lots for me to have a look at. 😊

The iron in a multivitamin is rarely absorbed. Especially if the multivitamin contains Zinc as most do. The OP specifically mentioned iron so I assumed this was due to low ferritin or anaemia. I gave advice as to how iron is best absorbed as many people don’t know this and then wonder why they can’t get their iron or ferritin levels up despite supplementation. If OP were to take her multivitamin and have caffeine an hour before or after then the tiny amount of iron that may have managed to make it through from the multivitamin certainly won’t.

OP if you are specifically low in Iron or ferritin then ensure you take iron supplements separately from any multivitamin you decide to take. If you aren’t low in iron or ferritin just take a normal multivit and try and increase iron consumption in your diet as far as possible. I’m not a fan of multivits anymore as I ended up with my folate, copper, vit c and zinc being dangerously high (due to unnecessary supplementation with multivitamin) whilst being simultaneously deficient in B12, Vitamin D and anaemic (due to malabsorption and autoimmune disease). I have to have injections/infusions now for the vitamins and minerals I’m definitely deficient in but when things weren’t as complicated I did take the aforementioned Radiance by Holland & Barrett and lots of my peers swore by them. Reviews are available on the website and you can also read the ingredients and RDA etc to see if it meets your requirements.
