I am having a massive kitchen sort out/re-organizing day .
I am embarrassed to say I have lots of sachets of these mixes.

Casseroles, spaghetti Bolognese, tuna pasta , holindase sauce ..get the idea !

Loads at BBE of various months of 2018/2019 .
Is it worth saving them ??
Thanks

I wouldn’t.
If they were 2020 I would possibly use them but I think 2018/2019 is a bit too old.

Thanks for replying.
I suppose the same goes for the tins of fruit as Well!
I have got a couple of October 2020 .

Best before is mostly a quality issue. I'd say that if you've let them get 2 or 3 years out of date, probably 2 or 3 times their normal shelf life, they were surplus to requirements, in the first place so you might as well bin them.

BlueCowWonders · 09/04/2021 15:22

Tins will be fine years out of date!
Just use within the next decade Grin

PickAChew · 09/04/2021 15:23

The fruit I'd try but check before eating it to make sure it's not going to ruin a perfectly good pudding.

Keepingitreal14 · 09/04/2021 15:26

There wont be anything wrong with them other then the flavouring may not be as strong that said I agree with PickAChew, if they have been there that long, you don't need them and are never going to use them.

BarbaraofSeville · 09/04/2021 15:26

They'll be fine. Honestly. More ridiculous food waste to bin them without a thought.

Bargebill19 · 09/04/2021 15:42

As someone who has just eaten a tin of raspberry’s dates 2004. I would keep them for another 10 years. So long as they are sealed they will be ok for me.

There was a thread around Christmas time where there were three of us who between us had the components of a Bird's trifle that expired around 2016. I had the custard powder, someone else had the Dream Topping and another poster had powdered jelly or trifle sponges, possibly both.

We had all used these items recently, and declared them to be absolutely fine, looking and tasting as they should.

Ninkanink · 09/04/2021 16:01

I’d easily use them. It’s only ‘best before’ and just means they might not be absolutely tip top, e.g. the flavour might not be as intense.

I would put them somewhere within reach and use one per week until they’re all gone.
