Holiday childcare for non sporty kids?

What do you do? Mine don’t mind a bit of activity, but don’t want a whole day of team sports, which seems to be the main offering around here.
Am I missing an obvious solution?

I suppose I could do some swaps with their friends, but that won’t cover it all. Not had to think about it for a while! Smile

Some places that offer wrap around care (attached to a nursery) often do holiday clubs. Look up Forest schools they may have holiday clubs and there is usually a drama based holiday club round here too.

Forrest schools, drama, art and music are the ones I’ve seen. Where I live they tend to be only a few days though and very expensive.
Mine did go to a ‘general’ one at a church which was a great idea, just not very well run. When I was a child the council run ones were mixed activities, it’s sad no one else does that.

There's language ones in my town too (French/Spanish)

I might sign up DS1 for French for half term - he'd rather do sports tbh but he's only in reception and they all say year 1+ or age 8+ annoyingly. The language club will take them from 4.

We use Barracudas - a mix of sport, crafts, general games etc. Is there one near you? Helps if they know other kids going but lots didn’t.

Its probably the only one we would use as others are sports focused (or Supercamps which wasn’t great in our exp).

We would be lost without hol camps, no way we can cover 13 weeks of school hols, we both work and no family nearby.

We use David Lloyd which do a tennis lesson and a swimming lesson and the rest is just games and colouring.

Oh that sounds lovely! Only in the SE of England though. There might be similar elsewhere though so I’ll have a look.

There's a couple of outdoor activity centres that do holiday clubs around here. Not sports, things like orienteering, abseiling, archery etc. Or sometimes childminders will have space.

There’s quite a few theatre camps near me. Also do you have a leisure centre nearby that does them? There’s one near me where they can do swimming, bowling etc.

Coding clubs were a great success for my kids. Try the county music service too if they are interested in that kind of thing, you might get lucky. There's a community theatre near here that runs all kind of random stuff - craft week, cooking week. It's just a question of trying everywhere you can think of! And any decent term time after school childcare, especially those that serve multiple schools. There's also a nursery here that runs one that looks really good with outings to the cinema, swimming pool, playground with ice cream for all primary ages. Basically network like crazy as a lot of the best places don't need to advertise much.
