Any one know about cats?

My garden is just covered in cat shit.
Especially one section.
iIs there anything that they hate, that would repel them from doing this?
It’s not somewhere in can plant something, so I’m thinking a powder or some such that I can regularly put down.

It stinks to high heaven, they have not done anything to cover it, it’s just there, on my grass bold as brass.
Cats are bastards in these parts.

Poo just left on grass may be hedgehogs not cats. Cats like to dig in earth and bury it.

@Dodie66

They are only triggered when an animal comes into your garden. They don’t stay on all the time. What pets do your neighbours have
I understand they are not always on, I was concerned about the noise they make when they are triggered.

Neighbour has a tortoise, chickens, dogs and rabbits.

Dont use those spikes unless you are a cunt who wants to harm cats and cause a £500 vets bill

There are many cat repellant granules, not sure if they work.

Our neighbour has the electronic things and the only person they annoy are my teen.

Luckily my cat only poos in my garden

^This.

And take the fucking spikes down before you injure someones pet.

speaking as a cat owner who regularly has to shift random DOG shit from her lawn

I invested in some plastic forks and mini kebab sticks and now happily watch the cats walk around the perimeter instead of going for a shit. They can do elsewhere.

*go

imaginethemdragons · 09/04/2021 18:25

They are not really spikes, it’s like a mat of plastic prongs if you will.
Not sharp, certainly won’t penetrate paw pads, just cause discomfort when stepped on.
I have watched the cats who attempt to stand on them, they kinda put a tentative paw down then lift up a few times, then naff off.
What I don’t want to do is cause any gastric problems for them by putting down chemicals/granuals etc.

That sprinkler system is a bit too pricey at £60!
I think that the water pistol may be the way to go.

@imaginethemdragons it's not to stop them walking on there, it's to make it impossible for them to crouch down and poo. I can attest that it works because the earth is undisturbed (I'm re-seeding area with grass) and I've watched them walk around it on many occasions.

Shorthairlady · 09/04/2021 18:33

It was also their main toileting point. No more though Grin

Queenoftheashes · 09/04/2021 18:33

My cat runs away whenever she sees my nephew. Can you hire a 7 year old boy to patrol your garden?

Yay4spring · 09/04/2021 18:36

Cats are creatures of habit and routine. Disturb their routine enough through liberal use of super soaker water pistols and they will change their routine to one that doesn’t include your garden. They’ve clearly got a well established routine that involves using your garden so it will take longer but it will work and doesn’t harm the cat just annoys them enough out of their routine.

SadFlower98 · 09/04/2021 21:18

You can buy things you put in the grass that make noise that drives cats off.

This works

BurbageBrook · 09/04/2021 21:25

They hate orange or citrus scent.
