Specsavers Advise

Has anyone recently taken children to specsavers for an eye test?

If so, were you all allowed in the examination room together?

I'm taking DSD and DSS tomorrow, neither of which could be left to their own devices in the waiting room alone and both of which will need me present during the examination. I just wondered if I need to ask my mum to come too to help.

Thanks

Why don't you ring them and ask!

LMW1990 · 07/04/2021 13:36

@starfishmummy thank you for your constructive reply Hmm I've tried but was on hold for a while. I'm now waiting for an unrelated call and need to keep the line free. I will obviously try them later but thought I'd ask

Ds 12 has just had one and I was with him the entire time. Didn't have to ask either!

@Chocolateismakingmefat thank you! I'm just concerned that they might ask me to wait outside with one or the other as three will be too many to go in.

I went in November last year with two children. We all crowded into the examination room together. Nothing was mentioned about leaving one of them outside in the waiting room, or the exam being done without me. Both the optician and I wore masks and everyone seemed happy.

@TWBAEM that's great! Thank you!

There was a woman with 2 dc. They all stayed together.. I doubt a receptionist will be expected to provide childcare!

LMW1990 · 07/04/2021 13:43

@Chocolateismakingmefat my thoughts exactly! My mum offered to come with me to help but equally we don't want to all pile into the waiting area unnecessarily

Thank you so much @LMW1990 I'm sure that was just as constructive as random internet strangers telling you that it was OK in a completely different branch.

I've taken my 10 yr old and stayed with her. I also had to have a further examination for myself for a problem, I left her in the waiting room for that, but she was brought in after a few minutes as she started crying. So it will be fine, parents are allowed in.

@feelingmean21 thank you Smile

My children have recently had eye tests with Specsavers. I was worried as I didn't know which child to go in with, I didn't want to leave one alone whilst getting tested, in case they had different opticians.
Luckily Specsavers must've already thought of that and we all went into the same room and both children were tested by the same optician - one after each other.

This was us at the dentist recently. I'm sure they've thought of everything op.
