Is anyone else guilty of buying recipe books and not making anything from them?

I usually buy mine in Kindle form and almost always when offer so at least they don't take up much room, but I still keep doing it even when I don't use most of the ones I currently own.

I often like the idea of the recipes but want someone to make it for me or there are too many ingredients.

I'm trying to change this and I'm going through them now but I wondered if anyone else has the same issue?

Yes, that's me. I would rather read comments and do an amalgamation of several recipes.

But the real kicker is when I first got married, i thought what I really needed was the entire Robert Carrier set. Yes, I did it! And, no, i did not immediately serve ham pineapples

Yes - I bought the Jamie Oliver one (7 ways or something) and have even bought the ingredients for a couple of the recipes and still didn’t do them!
Needless to say I’m not the cook in my house.

I have many food intolerances so lots of my cookbooks are tailored to that - and rubbish. But this thread has inspired me and I've picked out lunch and dinner from two books - I even have the necessary ingredients! Grin

Oh yes, love them, don't even pretend that I have any intention of making anything from them anymore! 😂

Yup! The only one I’m doing well with but not using as much as when I first bought it is The Roasting Tin. I’ve banned myself from buying anyone as I always go back to Schwartz packet mixes

Guilty. I love to have a selection on the shelf and browse thru them. I prefer print books for cooking as it is being physically able to go through the pages helps in my mind

Yeah, a dairy intolerance puts a dampener on a lot of recipes I'd otherwise fancy.

Or an obsession with throwing bloody pomegranate into everything.
