What family treat for £100?

An unexpected cheque landed on the doormat today for £100! We have not had any treats for ages as been paying off various bits and pieces before we buy a house together.

Day out/takeaway from nice restaurant/activity?

Ideally something this weekend as we are all free!

What would you spend it on?

We would use it to get fish and chips at the seaside and spend the day there. It's about £8pp at our beach, which would eat up £56.

With the other £44 I'd order a couple of board games.

I’d save it for a family cinema trip with treats once they’re open.

Disney + one-year subscription. We bought one last year in the first lockdown and DC have really had their money's worth with all the marvel movies and rewatching the Pixar films, and now there's Star which has things like The Favourite and Greg's Anatomy for grownups.

@wingsnthat

£14 each is tight, you might be able to afford Nando’s
I expect the op and husband can supplement it a bit. £100 will take care of most of it. A meal out is something everyone will enjoy.

Thanks for all the ideas :) We already have NT membership. We do get v cheap cinema tickets via a work reward scheme though (last outing cost me £34 for all of us which was fab) so a couple of cinema trips when things reopen might be a goer.

I talked to the kids too and they came up with idea of some new camping equipment- so could put it towards that. Swingball might be a good one as our set is knackered and we all like that when camping, plus some posh coffee syrups (idea from one of the 16yos)

We don't live anywhere near a nandos etc sadly.

£100 might actually go farther than I first thought if we steer clear of food!
