Pollen allergy testing?

Hi, I’m pretty sure I have tree pollen hayfever but am curious to find out more - has anyone done a home test for different pollen allergies? Any reviews or recommendations?

I haven't, but I'd ask what would be different as a result of taking a test? As you'd struggle to avoid a class of trees, eg all birch trees. Also hay-fever can change wrt allergens, severity, symptoms. It can be late onset too.

Have you tried taking an anti histamine and seeing if that helps?

I have done home tests, and I have had proper allergy testing done via a hospital. They both told me different things.

I would save the money and just take some antihistamines.

Hi, yeah good point about what would I do differently. I do get a worse symptoms sometimes inside by the woodburner or woodpile - last night I was near in the room with the log basket, the fire wasn’t on and I felt awful by the end of the evening: so I guess if I knew what type of wood I could avoid getting logs of that type!

You may be reacting to mould on the wood, rather than the type of wood itself. That happens to me sometimes with a batch of logs, in which case I don't bring them in until I'm ready to burn them.
