If you were getting a new kitchen soon, what colour would you go for? Concerned that grey is very much on the way out and don't want it to date too quickly.

We went for a greyish white with a wedgewood blue island.

Just before We bought our Kitchen pre covid, we stayed in a Holiday home with a contemporary Gloss kitchen fitted which was Handleless, and found that it showed up every single fingermark whenever we opened a door. It looked awful when the sun was shining in onto it, and I ended up spending far too much of my Holiday trying to keep it clean.
I could also imagine over time the areas of the units being constantly touched with various things on fingers such as vegetable juices, grease, or even the natural oils with your skin would soon wear the surfaces away or discolour them at least.

Each to their own, but this style of Kitchen is not for me Thankyou!

I recently had handleless doors replaced in cashmere from Howdens, go lovely with walnut type wood snd cream worktops. I painted walls copper blush and get the colour that way that can be changed easily

I'm having the same dilemma. About to go with Howdens. I love the shaker style.
But think I'll go antique cream with a very light oak coloured worktop. I love grey and sage green, but figure my walls can be that colour.

Also yes, all crockery Tupperware and pans in drawers, works really well , don't overload
Have fixed shelves in side corner cupboards for heavier big pots, took out those annoying corner glider things and old style fixed shelf in corner, best thing I did

Drawers are brilliant! So much easier that cupboards. I've got 3 wide ones with crockery, cutlery and dishes and 2 deep narrow ones for pans and trays. They are designed to take a lot of weight.

PolaDeVeboise · 03/04/2021 11:10

We are definitely not going gloss (agree about showing every mark)- Howdens do a 'super matt'. I like the look of Shaker kitchens, but dust/debris gets stuck in the ridges and it annoys me.

Thanks for the positive drawer stories, will show Mr DeVeboise this thread.

Drawers are the way to go. We’ve had a large amount of crockery in a wide drawer for 8 years with no issues...

@GirlofInkandStars I didn't realise they were for crockery! Brb, just off to revolutionise my cupboard space!

Sorry to jump in and ask a different question but i am looking at howdens- do you have to have a builder/fitter to get an appointment there? Is it only for trade? We just had a design appointment with Wickes but want to get another quote. Thanks
