Hayfever

Anyone struggling with hay fever already 😞 I didn’t even have hay fever before DD8 was born. Since then I’ve had it worse each year. Usually mine starts around may/June but it’s started early. I’m sitting her eyes and nose streaming, eyes itching... please tell me I’m not the only one that’s struggling more this year ☹️

I started taking my antihistamines in Feb, so am not too bad at the moment. When it's very bad I have antihistamines, eye drops and nose spray and am still half dead from it.

Like pp I started taking anti histamines in February however today has been particularly horrendous!

When I look at the pollen count for my area it says medium. Even DD who’s never had it is struggling 😊

It's important to take anti-histamine daily before symptoms are likely to start. Once they start, you are playing catch up. Start early and you avoid it.

Oldraver · 02/04/2021 15:48

Yes Ive been worse this last week. I take an anti-histimine all year for other things but may have to up the ante

fairydustandpixies · 02/04/2021 22:45

Personally, I ignore the pollen count forecast and let my nose do the job! I keep antihistamines by my bed so I can take one straight away when I wake up sneezing and wanting to pluck my eye balls out.

My DC are really suffering, the warm weather has released all the birch pollen apparently.
It hasn’t been too bad in the last 2 days as the weather is much cooler.
Someone on here recommended Nuage hay fever wipes and they have found those really helpful for school.
I also have a pollen app which sends me an alert for the next day if the pollen forecast is going to be very high.

Have you tried local honey?
Works wonders on some hay fever

mammmamia · 03/04/2021 16:43

Sadly I think the local honey thing is a myth. I do have a jar sitting here from last year though 🤦🏻‍♀️

Twinkie01 · 03/04/2021 16:44

The honey thing is a myth.

See if you can get some fexofenadine from the doctors.

mayneedabiscuit · 03/04/2021 17:55

The honey isn't a myth for everyone! Worked in this house.

Watto1 · 03/04/2021 17:57

Mine started a few days ago. I thought it was early but my Facebook memories popped up yesterday and reminded me that I was suffering this time last year too.

NellyTimes · 03/04/2021 18:01

Beconase nasal spray has worked wonders for my hay-fever, used to suffer dreadfully but hardly any symptoms now.

PeachesFromGeorgia · 03/04/2021 18:18

Mine was atrocious yesterday! I’m glad to see this because the pollen count was medium here too.

Joy69 · 04/04/2021 09:10

Hayfever bad this year. Mine always starts at the end of Feb when the trees get going. I have tried local honey. It works, reduces symptoms by 80%, but not completely. Tastes nice anyway Grin
