Crockery cutlery and glasses

I’ve just moved house and have a very odd mix of wine glasses plates and somehow not enough knives after moving away from my ex finally recently realised he left me all the kitchen stuff but just took one of everything for himself so I have a really odd number. I want to replace everything and start from scratch with new where is good to get them from that isn’t to expensive. My dinner table sits 6-8 people I like to host as well I need

Side plates
Plates
Bowles
Cutlery
Wine glasses
Champagne glasses
Water glasses
And a few for beer
I obviously don’t no if I just get six of everything as I won’t often have 8 round

I would suggest big pasta bowls too. And better to go for 8 I reckon at least to allow for breakage/party/can’t be arsed to wash up for a couple of days. And maybe a serving platter and bowl or something even if they don’t match

I buy everything in plain white as you invariably break items so can add to it later.

Sainsbury's - their white porcelain range is fine. You can build it up as you go so don't need to buy all at once and can replace as you need. But they sell Habitat stuff as well in case you want to mix it up a bit. I just buy supermarket glasses as well for the same reason - easy to replace.

I got large, wine glasses from asda which are great. They sell several styles, including champagne glasses. Mine are larger than a 'standard' wine glass, without being a ridiculously, enormous size. They were only a few $'s each too!

Denby do some nice, white plates, bowls etc. I had a deal from tesco clubcard points a few years ago. Always check the depth of your kitchen cabinets though, because some plates are too wide to fit in and allow the door to close flush!

Ikea, Sainsburys and tesco all sell the basics and mean you can often buy replacements if you get a popular/common colour and style.

Have a look at John Lewis. Their AnyDay dinner sets are good value.
