@Nadiyah77 I don't have personal experience but would be interested to hear from others too. I have visited twice in the last couple of weeks as looking for a prep for my girls

Hi @Nadiyah77 and @mrsbill
My daughters are both in the Prep and I couldn’t speak more highly of it. They work hard and play hard. Really impressed with the curriculum and all the extras (swimming, forest school, music etc) and they are so happy with their friends.
The sixth form is small but my experience of the older girls is very positive, they all seem to be confident, polite and grounded and the academic results are incredible!
Feel free to message if you have any more questions!

Excellent school, but it’s very popular area for houses

Nadiyah77 · 05/06/2021 11:39

Oh great, has your daughter already started? It’s a lovely area, lots of girls travel in from Windsor, ascot, sunningdale, windlesham but some even further from camberley, bagshot, bracknell and Wokingham so lots of areas to look at!

Nadiyah77 · 06/06/2021 20:45

My daughter is starting from September, Thanks for the information, we are looking more towards bracknell and wokingham so my daughter can take the school bus?Hopefully I'll start looking for houses next week .Take care and stay safe x

The Marist is not well seen amongst the locals. An agent that was showing me a property recommended Lambrook rather than the Marist (which quite interested she attended 30 years ago) and another one recommended George's Ascot (for girls only). I visited Marist on June and even though the staff was very friendly almost everything went wrong on that day - the kitchen ladies dropped the lunch on the ground (in the middle of the driving path) two girls were crying (one fainted - she was on the floor), another little girl from the Prep was very chatty but she told me how she kissed a boy many times. It was really an adventure that day. So I would say no to The Marist also, especially you recently moved in the area.

Hi Mummy1421
I'll give you feedback on where you're moving from.

@Nadiyah77 From India. Can we survive without car in Ascot for few months?Which area is good regarding daily needs which is also near to school.

TheFeistyFeminist · 05/08/2022 13:14

I didn't attend the Marist but I knew some girls who did and in those days they turned out two ways - academic wouldn't say boo to a goose types, or absolute raving party animals. One girl I knew got expelled.....

If you're struggling for transport you're going to want to live in Sunninghill unless they lay on coaches for girls further afield.

It's pricey but the village centre is well served for shops, pubs, restaurants.

Mummy1421 · 05/08/2022 14:04

Many thanks@TheFeistyFeminist

First of all, welcome to England. I will give you the guidelines, but you have to make your own decision.
My DD😒 has always gone to private school when we moved to the area. I thought it was a nice school and that small classes would be better for my DD.At first, it was sort of OK, but later on, my DD did not have a good experience. She gets bullied. They are very cliquey there. They have their own small friendship group, which is not easy to get into, even though my DD was born and brought up in England.
After 3 months, we didn't have any choice but to move her to another private school where she is more happy and the people are nicer and more accomodating.
Regarding transport, Marist has buses that pick up from surrounding areas, so that shouldn't be a problem. There are train links and food shopping is nearby.
In my honest opinion, I won't recommend Marist
If there is anything else I can help you with, please do let me know.
