Really boring question. How do you clean pubes off your bathroom floor?

I’ve moved into a house with a white tiled bathroom floor. When a stray pube is released from its follicle it stands out like well a pube.

Currently I’m using spray and kitchen towel to mop up the short and curlies.

What do you use?

I have just been upstairs and could not find a single pube in any bathroom.

JaneJeffer · 27/03/2021 15:17

Every time you think you've seen it all on Mumsnet...

hedgehogger1 · 27/03/2021 15:18

You Hoover then mop. Problem solved... how much time do you have to be cleaning the floor with a cloth?

FoonySpucker · 27/03/2021 15:18

@Deedeedocket

I don’t hoover the tiles. Blush I’ve never hoovered tiles. I clean them all with a spray and kitchen towel.
Why ever not?

The point of the hoover is to suck up all the stuff that is on the floor.

Dust etc doesn't just settle specifically on carpets.

TheVanguardSix · 27/03/2021 15:19

Just to say, I don't hoover the bathroom often because our bathroom is upstairs and I keep our rather heavy hoover downstairs. I don't want the hassle of dragging it up and down the stairs nearly every day, which is how often I need to clean our bathroom floors. The upstairs bedrooms/corridor gets hoovered once a week, so I'll hoover the bathroom on that day, but the rest of the time, I use my Leifheit system.

Tianatiers · 27/03/2021 15:21

I also never hoover the bathroom floor OP so I'm with you there. I don't notice a huge pube problem though but if I did I'd just clean them up with the cloth and rinse off under the tap. I clean the tiles with spray and a cloth. In terms of hoovering the bathroom floor, I don't like the thought of the hoover picking up germs and odours off the bathroom floor and then spreading them around the rest of the house when I hoover that.

Flamethrower.

Esther95 · 27/03/2021 15:34

I shave mine all off so never have to deal with this, lol

HunkyPunk · 27/03/2021 15:35

The weirdest thread I've ever seen

I can vouch for the fact that it's not weird at all! Especially when you have 3/4 males in the house. (None of the pubes are mine, obvs! Grin)
I do the same as you, op. Or sometimes use a wet wipe. And don't get me started on the scattering of wee spots round the loo. I'm having to wipe up more or less every time I use the bathroom. No-one else would notice during the day or ever, as you can only see them when you put the lights on. Many friends with older boys have confirmed that they have the same problem. I've lectured about sitting down to wee, but the idea doesn't seem to appeal to them. Anyway, back to the pubes. Most of them land when the males in the house are drying themselves after a shower, is my theory. Sometimes loads of them. I never tend to hoover the bathroom floor, as due to the abovementioned users, there's usually pools of water on the floor, so while I'm drying that, I might as well pick up stray pubes, wipe in front of the loo and clean the floor that way.

Vacuum

Sparklingbrook · 27/03/2021 15:47

I live with DH and DS2, and DS1 will appear from time to time in the Uni holidays. My bathrooms are pube free it seems. Mystery.

Afternoon all,

We've had a few reports about this thread and can see there's a spot of troll hunting going on. Just thought we'd let you all know that the OP's a long-term member of the site so we're happy to assume this thread's a genuine ask. If you don't have any cleaning tips for the OP, move along please! Smile

Deedeedocket · 27/03/2021 16:01

Oh my god seriously? A pube troll? Christ of all the things I’ve been accused of. I’m really not a pube troll.

How funny that the op's thread has been reported for discussing pubes on the bathroom floor! One of the banes of my life Grin

Bagelsandbrie · 27/03/2021 16:04

We are a dark and hairy family so I know where you’re coming from with this!!BlushGrin

We use the bathroom floor wipes, Dettol do a big and strong one and just wipe round with those and everything sticks to it - dust, pubes, whatever else.

Maybe they don't dry off in the bathroom, or they clean up after themselves Shock
dividedwefall · 27/03/2021 16:05

Dear me, why would you go to the trouble of reporting this? People are just out and out crazy.

JustSleepAlready · 27/03/2021 16:14

Two hairy people in my house. And people with long hair. Always show up on the bathroom floor, white work surfaces etc. Drives me bloody insane. Even after I’ve cleaned. Like where do they come from?? Literally I think the men/males in my house just walk around shedding!! Anyways, I have wet Dettol wipes in the loo which I wipe them up and ‘grab’ and bin. Hoover with the hoover attachment- just hoover the actual attachment when you’re done so it’s clean as well!! Then mop with bleach or floor cleaner. If I’m having a good day I will hoover then clean with kitchen towel and glass spray. The men in my house are in notice - I leave the bathroom clean, they should do the same. If not, I will start mopping up the bath with their pillow slips before I get in ( just to get my point across. Wouldn’t actually do this but it does feel good to think of a wee bit of payback)Wink

cushioncovers · 27/03/2021 16:20

Vigorously open and shut your bathroom door, the draft will cause all hair, pubes included to waft to the edge of the room. Then simple vacuum the around the skirting.

Stoppissingonmyheather · 27/03/2021 16:27

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww never knew this was a thing yukkity yuk I appreciate how lucky I am but yes how can you mop if you don't hoover or sweep they will all get on the mop and you will just wipe them all over the floor again. Hoover or sweep then mop with one of those mops already mentioned that you just put a floor wipe or cloth on and then chuck it away I love mine (not used for pubes) it's fabulous

groundcontroltomontydon · 27/03/2021 17:48

Socks. Everything sticks to socks. The fluffier the better. Gliding across the bathroom floor in a pair of angora bedsocks, I'm quite the pube magnet.

Envy not envy

MyAmusedPearlSquid · 21/12/2025 00:41

I wipe the floor with a wet wipe antibacterial wipe and follow it over again hard floor on carpet I've not noticed if I'm honest I personally shave myself but dh is a walking pube bush
