How do I get lush bath bomb fizz without paying lush bath bomb prices?

Just that really, dd (and secretly ds) love the lush bath bombs, they go all fizzy and lovely and smelly and nice.

They’re so expensive though.

I’ve tried the ones from the supermarket, and from Wilkos, and they just seem so.... lacklustre in comparison.

Hardly fizzing and a bit of a let down.

Where can I get some decent ones without spending £6 or £7 a pop?

They're not that difficult to make. You need citric acid, bicarb, something to scent them like essential oil and a spray water bottle to spritz small amounts of water into the mixture so you don't just make it all fizz up.

Pretty suds are brill. They do a fantastic monthly box, works out about £14 for 5/6 amazing bath bombs. My daughter loves them. (And so do I)

lollymoocosmetics.co.uk/ is a shop in my town and they're amazing. You'd have to keep an eye on social media for her doing big stock updates. A million times better than lush

I was going to say bomb cosmetics too but I've been beaten to it. They're great and much cheaper than Lush.

Miss Pattisserie is brilliant for bath ball things. Highly recommended because I love the colours, and leaves my skin super soft

If you're careful you should be able to break the ballistic with a hammer in a thick plastic bag.and get several baths out of it. The essential oils are pretty potent so you'll still get a lot of fragrance
I do this for DD's baths.

Honestly the Bomb Comestic ones are nothing at all like Lush. They are nice products but nowhere near as good and not comparable in my opinion. They don't fizz in the same way and don't smell as strong, they don't colour the water, compemetly different quality of product.

You can cut lush ones in half and use them over two baths. Or wait for the lush sale and buy lots!

I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to Lush too. The DC just want really bright colours, and bright colours in the water, they’re not fussed about scents or whether their skin is left soft or anything! I refuse to pay more than a fiver for one, but the more pricey end of Lush bath bombs are getting even more pricey over the last few years.

These are better than Lush. They're so fizzy and have an amazing colour, but they don't stain the bath after.

Another plug for homemade ones. DD12 and I make our own with food colouring and our own oils. See the Blue Peter website for a simple recipe as a pp has said: just bicarb, cream of tartar, water. Good fun, not expensive and very fizzy!

I agree with a previous poster about Bomb Cosmetics - they are a decent cheaper alternative to Lush, but not a good.

I was going to say this! It sounds all hippy woo to say "make your own" but they are genuinely lovely. And I would also suggest mixing Epsom salts in with the citric acid and Bicarb to make the water soft too.

£5 for a 25g tube of hand cream?? Lush is £4.50 for 45g for the dream cream.

I've tried a number of Bomb Cosmetics products. Whilst they are cheaper than Lush (or used to be) they don't compare on quality. I've gone back to Lush albeit only for a treat 1-2 times per year for a few bubble bars.

Lush should be shunned at all costs anyway. They recently advertised that girls could get binders there without parents knowing FFS. Not one penny of mine will they ever get.
